The humble - The righteous. \nPsalms 34:3\n \npsa 34:3\nTogether - Not in place, for David was now banished from the place of God's publick worship, but in affection: let our souls meet, and let our praises meet in the ears of the all - hearing God. \nPsalms 34:5\n \npsa 34:5\nLightened - Comforted and encouraged. Ashamed - They were not disappointed of their hope. \nPsalms 34:6\n \npsa 34:6\nThis man - David. \nPsalms 34:7\n \npsa 34:7\nThe angel - The angels, the singular number being put for the plural. \nPsalms 34:8\n \npsa 34:8\nO taste - Make trial, of it by your own experience of it. Good - Merciful and gracious. \nPsalms 34:9\n \npsa 34:9\nFear - Reverence, serve, and trust him: for fear is commonly put for all the parts of God's worship. \nPsalms 34:12\n \npsa 34:12\nLife - A long and happy life, begun in this world and continued for ever in the next. Good - In which he may enjoy good, prosperity or happiness. \nPsalms 34:13\n \npsa 34:13\nEvil - From all manner of evil speaking, from all injurious, false and deceitful speeches. \nPsalms 34:14\n \npsa 34:14\nDepart - From all sin. Do good - Be ready to perform all good offices to all men. Seek - Study by all means possible to live peaceable with all men. Pursue it - Do not only embrace it gladly when it is offered, but follow hard after it, when it seems to flee away from thee. \nPsalms 34:16\n \npsa 34:16\nThe face - His anger, which discovers itself in the face. \nPsalms 34:18\n \npsa 34:18\nNigh - Ready to hear and succour them.
