And they dwelt in their stead until the captivity.\n23 And the children of the half-tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land, from Bashan unto Baal-hermon and Senir and mount Hermon, where they increased.\n24 And these were the heads of their fathers' houses: Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valour, famous men, heads of their fathers' houses.\n25 And they broke faith with the G-d of their fathers, and went astray after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom G-d destroyed before them.\n26 And the G-d of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tillegath-pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river of Gozan, unto this day.\n27 The sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.\n28 And the sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.\n29 And the children of Amram: Aaron, and Moses, and Miriam. And the sons of Aaron: Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.\n30 Eleazar begot Phinehas, Phinehas begot Abishua;\n31 and Abishua begot Bukki, and Bukki begot Uzzi;\n32 and Uzzi begot Zerahiah, and Zerahiah begot Meraioth;\n33 Meraioth begot Amariah, and Amariah begot Ahitub;\n34 and Ahitub begot Zadok, and Zadok begot Ahimaaz;\n35 and Ahimaaz begot Azariah, and Azariah begot Johanan;\n36 and Johanan begot Azariah--he it is that executed the priest's office in the house that Solomon built in Jerusalem--\n37 and Azariah begot Amariah, and Amariah begot Ahitub;\n38 and Ahitub begot Zadok, and Zadok begot Shallum;\n39 and Shallum begot Hilkiah, and Hilkiah begot Azariah;\n40 and Azariah begot Seraiah, and Seraiah begot Jehozadak;\n41 and Jehozadak went into captivity, when HaShem carried away Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.","title":"1 Chronicles 5","type":"page"}
