{"collection":"Bible & Christianity","html_url":"https://unchartedknowledge.5gfusion.net/browse/bib/kjv/th1005.htm","path":"bib/kjv/th1005.htm","source_url":"https://sacred-texts.com/bib/kjv/th1005.htm","text":"1\u00a0But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.\n \n2\u00a0For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.\n \n3\u00a0For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.\n \n4\u00a0But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.\n \n5\u00a0Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.\n \n6\u00a0Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.\n \n7\u00a0For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.\n \n8\u00a0But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.\n \n9\u00a0For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,\n \n10\u00a0Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.\n \n11\u00a0Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.\n \n12\u00a0And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;\n \n13\u00a0And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.\n \n14\u00a0Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.\n \n15\u00a0See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.\n \n16\u00a0Rejoice evermore.\n \n17\u00a0Pray without ceasing.\n \n18\u00a0In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.\n \n20\u00a0Despise not prophesyings.\n \n21\u00a0Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.\n \n22\u00a0Abstain from all appearance of evil.\n \n23\u00a0And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.\n \n24\u00a0Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.\n \n25\u00a0Brethren, pray for us.\n \n26\u00a0Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.\n \n27\u00a0I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.\n \n28\u00a0The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
