A LIST OF FORMER BUDDHAS.\nTranslated from the Introduction to the J\u00e2taka (i.4328).\nNow in the same world-cycle that saw D\u00eepamkara, The One Possessing the Ten Forces, there were also three other Buddhas; but as none of them prophesied concerning the Future Buddha, I have not mentioned them. In the Commentary, however, all the Buddhas are mentioned from the beginning of that world-cycle on, as follows:--\n| 247. | \"Tanhamkara, Medhamkara, And also Saranamkara, D\u00eepamkara, the Buddha great, Konda\u00f1\u00f1a, of all men the chief, | \n| 248. | \"Ma\u00f1gala, and Sumana too, Revata, Sobhita, the sage, Anomadassi, Paduma, N\u00e2rada, Padumuttara, | \n| 249. | \"Sumedha, and Suj\u00e2ta too, Piyadassi, the glorious one, Atthadassi, Dhammadassi, Siddhattha, guide of every man, | \n| 250. | \"Tissa, Phussa, the Buddha great, Vipassi, Sikkhi, Vessabh\u00fb, Kakusandha, Kon\u00e2gamana, Kassapa also, guide for men,-- | \n| 251. | \"All these aforetime Buddhas were, Tranquil, from every passion free.
