{"collection":"Buddhism","html_url":"https://unchartedknowledge.5gfusion.net/browse/bud/dhp/15.htm","path":"bud/dhp/15.htm","source_url":"https://sacred-texts.com/bud/dhp/15.htm","text":"197-200:\nHow very happily we live,\nfree from hostility\namong those who are hostile.\nAmong hostile people,\nfree from hostility we dwell.\nHow very happily we live,\nfree from misery\namong those who are miserable.\nAmong miserable people,\nfree from misery we dwell.\nHow very happily we live,\nfree from busyness\namong those who are busy.\nAmong busy people,\nfree from busyness we dwell.\nHow very happily we live,\nwe who have nothing.\nWe will feed on rapture\nlike the Radiant gods.\n201:\nWinning gives birth to hostility.\nLosing, one lies down in pain.\nThe calmed lie down with ease,\nhaving set\nwinning & losing\naside.\n202-204:\nThere's no fire like passion,\nno loss like anger,\nno pain like the aggregates,\nno ease other than peace.\nHunger: the foremost illness.\nFabrications: the foremost pain.\nFor one knowing this truth \nas it actually is,\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Unbinding \nis the foremost ease.\nFreedom from illness: the foremost good fortune.\nContentment: the foremost wealth.\nTrust: the foremost kinship.\nUnbinding: the foremost ease.\n205:\nDrinking the nourishment,\nthe flavor,\nof seclusion & calm,\none is freed from evil, devoid\nof distress,\nrefreshed with the nourishment\nof rapture in the Dhamma.\n206-208:\nIt's good to see Noble Ones.\nHappy their company -- always.\nThrough not seeing fools\nconstantly, constantly\none would be happy.\nFor, living with a fool,\none grieves a long time.\nPainful is communion with fools,\nas with an enemy -- \n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 always.\nHappy is communion \nwith the enlightened,\nas with a gathering of kin.\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 So:\nthe enlightened man -- \ndiscerning, learned,\nenduring, dutiful, noble,\nintelligent, a man of integrity:\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 follow him\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 -- one of this sort -- \n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 as the moon, the path \n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 of the zodiac stars.","title":"Dhammapada XV: Happy","type":"page"}
