Now at that time a certain Bhikkhu had committed numerous Samgh\u00e2disesa offences, one of which he had concealed for one day, one for two days, one for three days, [and so on down to] and one for ten days.\nHe told the Bhikkhus, saying, 'I have committed, (&c., as before, down to) and one for ten days. What now shall I do?'\nThey told this thing to the Blessed One.\n'Let then the Samgha, O Bhikkhus, impose upon that Bhikkhu an inclusive probation according to one of those offences which has been concealed for ten days 1.'\n'Now thus, O Bhikkhus, ought it to be imposed.'\n[Here follows the kammav\u00e2k\u00e2 in the form given at chapter 1, \u00a7\u00a7 2, 3, to the end.]\n409:1 From this and what follows it is clear that however many are the offences, and however various the periods of concealment, the probation is only to last for the same period as the longest of the concealments has lasted. Thus the Samanta P\u00e2s\u00e2dik\u00e2 says here: agghasamodh\u00e2no n\u00e2ma sambahul\u00e2su \u00e2patt\u00eesu y\u00e2 ek\u00e2 v\u00e2 dve v\u00e2 tisso v\u00e2 sambahul\u00e2 v\u00e2 \u00e2pattiyo sabbakirapatikkhann\u00e2yo t\u00e2sam agghena samodh\u00e2ya t\u00e2sam rattiparikkhedavasena avases\u00e2nam \u00fbnatarapatikkhann\u00e2nam \u00e2patt\u00eenam pariv\u00e2so diyyati.
