This too, again, is comely, that a man should not be envious of his neighbour. And moreover, again, it is suitable and comely that all those who work the works of the Lord should work the works of the Lord in the fear of God. Thus is it required of them to conduct themselves. That \u201cthe harvest is great, but the workmen are few,\u201d this also is well-known and manifest. Let us, therefore, \u201cask of the Lord of the harvest\u201d that He would send forth workmen into the harvest; 421 such workmen as \u201cshall skilfully dispense the word of truth;\u201d workmen \u201cwho shall not be ashamed;\u201d 422 faithful workmen; workmen who shall be \u201cthe light of the world;\u201d 423 workmen who \u201cwork not for the food that perisheth, but for that food which abideth unto life eternal;\u201d 424 workmen who shall be such as the apostles; workmen who imitate the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit; who are concerned for the salvation of men; not \u201chireling\u201d 425 workmen; not workmen to whom the fear of God and righteousness appear to be gain; not workmen who \u201cserve their belly;\u201d not workmen who \u201cwith fair speeches and pleasant words mislead the hearts of the innocent;\u201d 426 not workmen who imitate the children of light, while they are not light but darkness\u2014\u201cmen whose end is destruction;\u201d 427 not workmen who practise iniquity and wickedness and fraud; not \u201ccrafty workmen;\u201d 428 not workmen \u201cdrunken\u201d and \u201cfaithless;\u201d 429 nor workmen who traffic in Christ; 430 not misleaders; not \u201clovers of money; not malevolent.\u201d 431\nLet us, therefore, contemplate and imitate the faithful who have conducted themselves well in the Lord, as is becoming and suitable to our calling and profession.
