R. Amen. | | For ever and ever. R. Amen. | \nHe makes the sign of the cross three times over the chalice with the particle of the host, saying:\n| Pax D\u00f3mini sit semper vob\u00edscum. R. Amen. | \nHe covers the chalice, kneels, rises, and bowing before the blessed Sacrament, with his hands joined together and striking his breast three times, says:\n| Agnus Dei, qui tollis pecc\u00e1ta mundi, miser\u00e9re nobis. Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world, grant us peace. | \nAt mass for the dead, instead of saying: miser\u00e9re nobis, he says: dona eis r\u00e9quiem, rest. Amen. | \nHe receives both portions of the host reverently, joins his hands together, and remains for a little while quietly meditating on the most holy Sacrament. Then, if there are any communicants, he should give them communion before purifying.
