Griffith, [1895]\n1To thee hath come the kingship with its splendour: On! shine\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0as lord, sole ruler of the people.\n \u00a0\u00a0King! let all regions of the heavens invite thee. Here let men\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0wait on thee and bow before thee.\n 2The tribesmen shall elect thee for the Kingship, these five celestial\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0regions shall elect thee.\n \u00a0\u00a0Rest on the height and top of kingly power: thence as a mighty\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0man award us treasures.\n 3Kinsmen, inviting thee, shall go to meet thee, with thee go\n \u00a0\u00a0Agni as an active herald.\n \u00a0\u00a0Let women and their sons be friendly-minded. Thou mighty one,\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0shalt see abundant tribute.\n 4First shall the Asvins, Varuna and Mitra, the Universal Gods,\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and Maruts call thee.\n \u00a0\u00a0Then turn thy mind to giving gifts of treasures, thence, mighty\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0one, distribute wealth among us.\n 5Speed to us hither from the farthest distance. Propitious unto\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0thee be Earth and Heaven.\n \u00a0\u00a0Even so hath Varuna this King asserted, he who himself hath\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0called thee: come thou hither.\n 6Pass to the tribes of men. O Indra, Indra.
