Griffith, [1895]\n1The kine have come and brought good fortune: let them rest in\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0the cow-pen and be happy near us.\n \u00a0\u00a0Here let them stay prolific, many-coloured, and yield through\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0many morns their milk for Indra.\n 2Indra aids him who offers sacrifice and praise: he takes not what\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0is his, and gives him more thereto.\n \u00a0\u00a0Increasing ever more and ever more his wealth, he makes the\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0pious dwell within unbroken bounds.\n 3These are ne'er lost, no robber ever injures them: no evil-minded\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0foe attempts to harass them.\n \u00a0\u00a0The master of the kine lives a long life with these, the Cows\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0whereby he pours his gifts and serves the Gods.\n 4The charger with his dusty brow o'ertakes them not, and never\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0to the shambles do they take their way.\n \u00a0\u00a0These Cows, the cattle of the pious worshipper, roam over wide-\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0spread pasture where no danger is.\n 5To me the Cows seem Bhaga, they seem Indra, they seem a\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0portion of the first poured Soma.\n \u00a0\u00a0These present Cows, they, O ye men, are Indra. I long for Indra\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0with my heart and spirit.\n 6O Cows, ye fatten e'en the worn and wasted, and make the\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0unlovely beautiful to look on.\n \u00a0\u00a0Prosper my home, ye with auspicious voices!
