Griffith, [1895]\n1Let strength be mine while I invoke thee, Agni! enkindling thee\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0may we support our bodies.\n \u00a0\u00a0May the four regions bend and bow before me: with thee for\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0guardian may we win the combat.\n 2Baffling the range of our opponents, Agni! guard us as our\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0protector round about us.\n \u00a0\u00a0Down the steep slope go they who hate us, backward, and let\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0their thought who watch at home be ruined.\n 3May all the Gods be on my side in battle, the Maruts led by\n \u00a0\u00a0Indra, Vishnu, Agni.\n \u00a0\u00a0Mine be the middle air's extended region, and may the Wind\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0blow favouring these my wishes.\n 4For me let them present all mine oblations, and let my mind's\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0intention be accomplished.\n \u00a0\u00a0May I be guiltless of the least transgression: may all the Gods\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0come hither and protect me.\n 5May the Gods grant me riches, may the blessing and invocation\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0of the Gods assist me.\n \u00a0\u00a0This boon shall the celestial Hotars win us: may we, unwound-\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0ed, have brave heroes round us.\n 6Ye six divine Expanses, give us freedom.
