Griffith, [1895]\n1To him most liberal, lofty Lord of lofty wealth, verily powerful\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and strong, I bring my hymn,\n \u00a0\u00a0Whose checkless bounty, as of waters down a slope, is spread\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0abroad for all that live, to give them strength.\n 2Now all this world, for worship, shall come after thee\u2014the\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0offerer's libations like descending floods,\n \u00a0\u00a0When the well-loved one seems to rest upon the hill, the thun-\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0derbolt of Indra, shatterer wrought of gold.\n 3To him the terrible, most worthy of high praise, like radiant\n \u00a0\u00a0Dawn, bring gifts with reverence in this rite,\n \u00a0\u00a0Whose being, for renown, yea, Indra-power and light, have been\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0created, like bay steeds, to move with speed.\n 4Thine, Indra, praised by many excellently rich! are we who\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0trusting in thy help draw near to thee.\n \u00a0\u00a0Lover of praise, none else but thou receives our laud: as Earth\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0loves all her creatures, love thou this our hymn.\n 5Great is thy power, O Indra, we are thine.
