Griffith, [1895]\n1Even as an archer shoots afar his arrow, offer the laud to him\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0with meet adornment.\n \u00a0\u00a0Quell with your voice the wicked's voice, O sages, Singer, make\n \u00a0\u00a0Indra rest beside the Soma.\n 2Draw thy Friend to thee like a cow at milking: O singer, wake\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0up Indra as a lover.\n \u00a0\u00a0Make thou the Hero haste to give us riches even as a vessel\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0filled brimful with treasure.\n 3Why, Maghavan, do they call thee bounteous Giver?
