Now hear which are the S\u2019aktis in due order of the twenty four syllables of the G\u00e2yatr\u00ee Dev\u00ee:--\n(1) V\u00e2ma Dev\u00ee, (2) Priy\u00e2, (3) Saty\u00e2, (4) Vis'v\u00e2, (5) Bhadravil\u00e2sin\u00ee, (6) Prabh\u00e2 Vat\u00ee, (7) Jay\u00e2, (8) S\u2019\u00e2nt\u00e2, (9) K\u00e2nt\u00e2, (10) Durg\u00e2, (11) Sarasvat\u00ee, (12) Vidrum\u00e2, (13) Vis'\u00e2le's\u00e2, (14) Vy\u00e2pin\u00ee, (15) Vimal\u00e2, (16) Tamopah\u00e2rin\u00ee, (17) S\u00fbksm\u00e2, (18) Vis'vayoni, (19) Jay\u00e2, (20) Vas'\u00e2, (21) Padm\u00e2lay\u00e2, (22) Par\u00e2s'obh\u00e2, (23) Bhadr\u00e2, and (24) Tripad\u00e2.\nNow hear the respective colours of the several syllables of the G\u00e2yatr\u00ee Dev\u00ee :-- (1) like Champaka and Atas\u00ee flowers, (2) like Vidruma, (3) like crystal, (4) like lotus; (5) like the Rising Sun; (6) white like conchshell; (7) white like Kunda flower; (8) like Prab\u00e2la and lotus leaves; (9) like Padmar\u00e2ga, (10) like Indran\u00eelamani; (11) like pearls; (12) like Saffron; (13) like the black collyrium of the eye; (14) red; (15) like the Vaid\u00fbrya mani; (16) like Ksaudra (Champaka tree, honey, water); (17) like turmeric; (18) like Kunda flower; and the milk (19) like the rays of the Sun; (20) like the tail of the bird S\u2019uka; (21) like S\u2019atapatra; (22) like Ketak\u00ee flower; (23) like Mallik\u00e2 flower; (24) like Karav\u00eera flower.\nNow about their Tattvas :-- (1) earth; (2) water; (3) fire; (4) air; (5) \u00c2k\u00e2s'a (ether); (6) smell; (7) taste; (8) form; (9) sound; (10)\ntouch; (11) male generative organ; (12) anus; (13) legs, (14) hands; (15) speech; (16) Pr\u00e2na (vital breath); (17) tongue; (18) eyes; (19) skin; (20) ears; (21) Pr\u00e2na (up going breath); (22) Ap\u00e2na; (23) Vy\u00e2na, (24) S\u00e2m\u00e2na.\nNow about the Mudr\u00e2s of the syllables:-- (l) Sammukha; (2) Samputa; (3) Vitata; (4) Vistrita; (5) Dvimukha, (6) Trimukha; (7) Chaturmukha; (8) Pa\u00f1chamukha; (9) Sanmukha; (10) Adhomukha; (11) Vy\u00e2pak\u00e2njali (12) S\u2019akata; (13) Yamap\u00e2s'a; (14) Grathita; (15) Sanmukhon mukha (16) Vilamba; (17) Mustika; (18) Matsya; (19) K\u00fbrma; (20) Var\u00e2haka; (21) Simh\u00e2kr\u00e2nta, (22) Mah\u00e2kr\u00e2nta; (23) Mudgara, and (24) Pallava.\nThe Mah\u00e2mudr\u00e2s of the fourth foot of G\u00e2yatr\u00ee are (1) Tris\u00fblayon\u00ee (2) Surabhi; (3) Aksa m\u00e2l\u00e2; (4) Linga; and (5) Ambuja. O N\u00e2rada! Thus I have described to you all about the Mudras, etc., of the several syllables of the G\u00e2yatr\u00ee.
