WINNER of thousands, kindled, thou shinest a God with Gods to-day.\n Bear out oblations, envoy, Sage.\n 2 Child of Thyself the sacrifice is for the righteous blent with meath,\n Presenting viands thousandfold.\n 3 Invoked and worthy of our praise bring Gods whose due is sacrifice:\n Thou, Agni, givest countless gifts.\n 4 To seat a thousand Heroes they eastward have strewn the grass with might,\n Whereon, \u0100dityas, ye shine forth.\n 5 The sovran all-imperial Doors, wide, good, many and manifold,\n Have poured their streams of holy oil.\n 6 With gay adornment, fair to see, in glorious beauty shine they forth:\n Let Night and Morning rest them here.\n 7 Let these two Sages first of all, heralds divine and eloquent,\n Perform for us this sacrifice.\n 8 You I address, Sarasvat\u012b, and Bh\u0101rat\u012b, and I\u1e37\u0101, all:\n Urge ye us on to glorious fame.\n 9 Tva\u1e63\u1e6dar the Lord hath made all forms and all the cattle of the field\n Cause them to multiply for us.\n 10 Send to the Gods, Vanaspati, thyself, the sacrificial draught:\n Let Agni make the oblations sweet.\n 11 Agni, preceder of the Gods, is honoured with the sacred song:\n He glows at offerings blest with Hail!","title":"Rig Veda: Rig-Veda Book 1: HYMN CLXXXVIII. \u0100pr\u012bs.","type":"page"}
