LIKE rivers down a steep descent, slaying the V\u1e5btras, full of zeal,\n The rapid Soma-streams have flowed.\n 2 The drops of Soma juice effused fall like the rain upon the earth:\n To Indra flow the Soma-streams.\n 3 With swelling wave the gladdening drink, the Soma, flows into\u1e6dhe sieve,\n Loving the Gods and slaying fiends.\n 4 It hastens to the pitchers, poured upon the sieve it waxes strong\n At sacrifices through the lauds.\n 5 Soma, thou shinest mounting heaven as \u2019twere above light's triple realm,\n And moving secm'st to speed the Sun.\n 6 To him, the head of sacnfice, singers and bards have sung their songs,\n Offering what he loves to see.\n 7 The men, the sages with their hymns, eager for help, deck thee strong &teed,\n Deck thee for service of the Gods.\n 8 Flow onward to the stream of meath rest efficacious in thy home,\n Fair, to be drunk at sacrifice.","title":"Rig Veda: Rig-Veda, Book 9: HYMN XVII.
