Through understanding we understand the Rig-veda, the Yagur-veda, the S\u00e2ma-veda, and as the fourth the \u00c2tharvana, as the fifth the Itih\u00e2sa-pur\u00e2na 1, the Veda of the Vedas, the Pitrya, the R\u00e2si, the Daiva, the Nidhi, the V\u00e2kov\u00e2kya, the Ek\u00e2yana, the Deva-vidy\u00e2, the Brahma-vidy\u00e2, the Bh\u00fbta-vidy\u00e2, the Kshatra-vidy\u00e2, the Nakshatra-vidy\u00e2, the Sarpa and Devagana-vidy\u00e2, heaven, earth, air, ether, water, fire, gods, men, cattle, birds, herbs, trees, all beasts down to worms, midges, and ants; what is right and what is wrong; what is true and what is false; what is good and what is bad; what is pleasing and what is not pleasing; food and savour, this world and that, all this we understand through understanding.
