Would'st hide the stain\n Of my heart's blood? Blood-red the ruby glows\n (And whence it came my wounded bosom knows)\n Upon thy lips to show what thou hast done.\nLet not thy curls waylay my pilgrim soul,\n As robbers use, and plunder me no more!\n Years join dead year, but thine extortionate rule\n Is still the same, merciless as before.\n Sing, Hafiz, sing again of eyes that weep!\n For still the fountain of our tears is deep\n As once it was, and still with tears is full.","title":"Poems from the Divan of Hafiz: The Poems: XXXIII.
