Pickthall\n55. ar-Rahman: The Merciful\n1 The Beneficent\n2 Hath made known the Qur'an.\n3 He hath created man.\n4 He hath taught him utterance.\n5 The sun and the moon are made punctual.\n6 The stars and the trees adore.\n7 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure,\n8 That ye exceed not the measure,\n9 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof.\n10 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures,\n11 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees,\n12 Husked grain and scented herb.\n13 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n14 He created man of clay like the potter's,\n15 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire.\n16 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n17 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests!\n18 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n19 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet.\n20 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other).\n21 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n22 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone.\n23 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n24 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners.\n25 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n26 Everyone that is thereon will pass away;\n27 There remaineth but the Countenance of thy Lord of Might and Glory.\n28 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n29 All that are in the heavens and the earth entreat Him. Every day He exerciseth (universal) power.\n30 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n31 We shall dispose of you, O ye two dependents (man and jinn).\n32 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n33 O company of jinn and men, if ye have power to penetrate (all) regions of the heavens and the earth, then penetrate (them)! Ye will never penetrate them save with (Our) sanction.\n34 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n35 There will be sent, against you both, heat of fire and flash of brass, and ye will not escape.\n36 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n37 And when the heaven splitteth asunder and becometh rosy like red hide -\n38 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ? -\n39 On that day neither man nor jinni will be questioned of his sin.\n40 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n41 The guilty will be known by their marks, and will be taken by the forelocks and the feet.\n42 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n43 This is hell which the guilty deny.\n44 They go circling round between it and fierce, boiling water.\n45 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n46 But for him who feareth the standing before his Lord there are two gardens.\n47 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n48 Of spreading branches.\n49 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n50 Wherein are two fountains flowing.\n51 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n52 Wherein is every kind of fruit in pairs.\n53 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n54 Reclining upon couches lined with silk brocade, the fruit of both the gardens near to hand.\n55 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n56 Therein are those of modest gaze, whom neither man nor jinni will have touched before them.\n57 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n58 (In beauty) like the jacynth and the coral-stone.\n59 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n60 Is the reward of goodness aught save goodness ?\n61 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n62 And beside them are two other gardens,\n63 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n64 Dark green with foliage.\n65 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n66 Wherein are two abundant springs.\n67 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n68 Wherein is fruit, the date-palm and pomegranate.\n69 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n70 Wherein (are found) the good and beautiful -\n71 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ? -\n72 Fair ones, close-guarded in pavilions -\n73 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ? -\n74 Whom neither man nor jinni will have touched before them -\n75 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n76 Reclining on green cushions and fair carpets.\n77 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny ?\n78 Blessed be the name of thy Lord, Mighty and glorious!","title":"The Meaning of the Glorious Qur'\u00e2n,: 55. ar-Rahman:...","type":"page"}
