Pickthall\n 80. `Abasa: He Frowned\n 1\u00a0He frowned and turned away \n 2\u00a0Because the blind man came unto him. \n 3\u00a0What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) \n 4\u00a0Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him ? \n 5\u00a0As for him who thinketh himself independent, \n 6\u00a0Unto him thou payest regard. \n 7\u00a0Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). \n 8\u00a0But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose \n 9\u00a0And hath fear, \n 10\u00a0From him thou art distracted. \n 11\u00a0Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, \n 12\u00a0So let whosoever will pay heed to it, \n 13\u00a0On honoured leaves \n 14\u00a0Exalted, purified, \n 15\u00a0(Set down) by scribes \n 16\u00a0Noble and righteous. \n 17\u00a0Man is (self-)destroyed: how ungrateful! \n 18\u00a0From what thing doth He create him ? \n 19\u00a0From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, \n 20\u00a0Then maketh the way easy for him, \n 21\u00a0Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; \n 22\u00a0Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. \n 23\u00a0Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. \n 24\u00a0Let man consider his food: \n 25\u00a0How We pour water in showers \n 26\u00a0Then split the earth in clefts \n 27\u00a0And cause the grain to grow therein \n 28\u00a0And grapes and green fodder \n 29\u00a0And olive-trees and palm-trees \n 30\u00a0And garden-closes of thick foliage \n 31\u00a0And fruits and grasses: \n 32\u00a0Provision for you and your cattle. \n 33\u00a0But when the Shout cometh \n 34\u00a0On the day when a man fleeth from his brother \n 35\u00a0And his mother and his father \n 36\u00a0And his wife and his children, \n 37\u00a0Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others). \n 38\u00a0On that day faces will be bright as dawn, \n 39\u00a0Laughing, rejoicing at good news; \n 40\u00a0And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, \n 41\u00a0Veiled in darkness, \n 42\u00a0Those are the disbelievers, the wicked.","title":"The Meaning of the Glorious Qur'\u00e2n,: 80. `Abasa: He Frowned","type":"page"}
