Pickthall\n 83. at-Tatfif: The Defrauders\n 1\u00a0Woe unto the defrauders: \n 2\u00a0Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, \n 3\u00a0But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. \n 4\u00a0Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again \n 5\u00a0Unto an Awful Day, \n 6\u00a0The day when (all) mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds ? \n 7\u00a0Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - \n 8\u00a0Ah! what will convey unto thee what Sijjin is! - \n 9\u00a0A written record. \n 10\u00a0Woe unto the repudiators on that day! \n 11\u00a0Those who deny the Day of Judgment \n 12\u00a0Which none denieth save each criminal transgressor, \n 13\u00a0Who, when thou readest unto him Our revelations, saith: (Mere) fables of the men of old. \n 14\u00a0Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts. \n 15\u00a0Nay, but surely on that day they will be covered from (the mercy of) their Lord. \n 16\u00a0Then lo! they verily will burn in hell, \n 17\u00a0And it will be said (unto them): This is that which ye used to deny. \n 18\u00a0Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - \n 19\u00a0Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - \n 20\u00a0A written record, \n 21\u00a0Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). \n 22\u00a0Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, \n 23\u00a0On couches, gazing, \n 24\u00a0Thou wilt know in their faces the radiance of delight. \n 25\u00a0They are given to drink of a pure wine, sealed, \n 26\u00a0Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - \n 27\u00a0And mixed with water of Tasnim, \n 28\u00a0A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. \n 29\u00a0Lo! the guilty used to laugh at those who believed, \n 30\u00a0And wink one to another when they passed them; \n 31\u00a0And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; \n 32\u00a0And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. \n 33\u00a0Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. \n 34\u00a0This day it is those who believe who have the laugh of disbelievers, \n 35\u00a0On high couches, gazing. \n 36\u00a0Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do ?","title":"The Meaning of the Glorious Qur'\u00e2n,: 83. at-Tatfif: The Defrauders","type":"page"}
