Pickthall\n 88. al-Ghashiya: The Overwhelming Calamity\n 1\u00a0Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming ? \n 2\u00a0On that day (many) faces will be downcast, \n 3\u00a0Toiling, weary, \n 4\u00a0Scorched by burning fire, \n 5\u00a0Drinking from a boiling spring, \n 6\u00a0No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit \n 7\u00a0Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. \n 8\u00a0In that day other faces will be calm, \n 9\u00a0Glad for their effort past, \n 10\u00a0In a high Garden \n 11\u00a0Where they hear no idle speech, \n 12\u00a0Wherein is a gushing spring, \n 13\u00a0Wherein are couches raised \n 14\u00a0And goblets set at hand \n 15\u00a0And cushions ranged \n 16\u00a0And silken carpets spread. \n 17\u00a0Will they not regard the camels, how they are created ? \n 18\u00a0And the heaven, how it is raised ? \n 19\u00a0And the hills, how they are set up ? \n 20\u00a0And the earth, how it is spread ? \n 21\u00a0Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, \n 22\u00a0Thou art not at all a warder over them. \n 23\u00a0But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, \n 24\u00a0Allah will punish him with direst punishment. \n 25\u00a0Lo! unto Us is their return \n 26\u00a0And Ours their reckoning.","title":"The Meaning of the Glorious Qur'\u00e2n,: 88. al-Ghashiya: The Overwhelming Calamity","type":"page"}
