Pickthall\n96. al-`Alaq: The Clot\n1 Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth,\n2 Createth man from a clot.\n3 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous,\n4 Who teacheth by the pen,\n5 Teacheth man that which he knew not.\n6 Nay, but verily man is rebellious\n7 That he thinketh himself independent!\n8 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return.\n9 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth\n10 A slave when he prayeth ?\n11 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah)\n12 Or enjoineth piety ?\n13 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward ?\n14 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth ?\n15 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock -\n16 The lying, sinful forelock -\n17 Then let him call upon his henchmen!\n18 We will call the guards of hell.\n19 Nay, Obey not thou him.
