Yas-aloonaka AAani alshshahri alharami qitalin feehi qul qitalun feehi kabeerun wasaddun AAan sabeeli Allahi wakufrun bihi waalmasjidi alharami wa-ikhraju ahlihi minhu akbaru AAinda Allahi waalfitnatu akbaru mina alqatli wala yazaloona yuqatiloonakum hatta yaruddookum AAan deenikum ini istataAAoo waman yartadid minkum AAan deenihi fayamut wahuwa kafirun faola-ika habitat aAAmaluhum fee alddunya waal-akhirati waola-ika as-habu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona\n217. They ask thee\n Concerning fighting\n In the Prohibited Month.\n Say: \"Fighting therein\n Is a grave (offence);\n But graver is it\n In the sight of God\n To prevent access\n To the path of God,\n To deny Him,\n To prevent access\n To the Sacred Mosque,\n And drive out its members.\n Tumult and oppression\n Are worse than slaughter.\n Nor will they cease\n Fighting you until\n They turn you back\n From your faith\n If they can.\n And if any of you\n Turn back from their faith\n And die in unbelief,\n Their works will bear no fruit\n In this life\n And in the Hereafter;\n They will be\n Companions of the Fire\n And will abide therein.\n218. Inna allatheena amanoo waallatheena hajaroo wajahadoo fee sabeeli Allahi ola-ika yarjoona rahmata Allahi waAllahu ghafoorun raheemun\n218. Those who believed\n And those who suffered exile\n And fought (and strove and struggled)\n In the path of God,\u2014\n They have the hope\n Of the Mercy of God;\n And God is Oft-forgiving,\n Most Merciful.\n219. Yas-aloonaka AAani alkhamri waalmaysiri qul feehima ithmun kabeerun wamanafiAAu lilnnasi wa-ithmuhuma akbaru min nafAAihima wayas-aloonaka matha yunfiqoona quli alAAafwa kathalika yubayyinu Allahu lakumu al-ayati laAAallakum tatafakkaroona\n219. They ask thee\n Concerning wine and gambling.\n Say: \"In them is great sin,\n And some profit, for men;\n But the sin is greater\n Than the profit.\"\n Whey ask thee how much\n They are to spend;\n Say: \"What is beyond\n Your needs.\"\n Thus doth God\n Make clear to you\n His Signs: in order that\n Ye may consider\u2014\n220. Fee alddunya waal-akhirati wayas-aloonaka AAani alyatama qul islahun lahum khayrun wa-in tukhalitoohum fa-ikhwanukum waAllahu yaAAlamu almufsida mina almuslihi walaw shaa Allahu laaAAnatakum inna Allaha AAazeezun hakeemun\n220. (Their bearings) on\n This life and the Hereafter.\nThey ask thee\n Concerning orphans.\n Say: \"The best thing to do\n Is what is for their good;\n If ye mix\n Their affairs with yours,\n They are your brethren;\n But God knows\nThe man who means mischief\n From the man who means good.\n And if God had wished,\n He could have put you\n Into difficulties: He is indeed\n Exalted in Power, Wise.\n221. Wala tankihoo almushrikati hatta yu/minna walaamatun mu/minatun khayrun min mushrikatin walaw aAAjabatkum wala tunkihoo almushrikeena hatta yu/minoo walaAAabdun mu/minun khayrun min mushrikin walaw aAAjabakum ola-ika yadAAoona ila alnnari waAllahu yadAAoo ila aljannati waalmaghfirati bi-ithnihi wayubayyinu ayatihi lilnnasi laAAallahum yatathakkaroona\n221. Do not marry\n Unbelieving women (idolaters),\n Until they believe:\n A slave woman who believes\n Is better than an unbelieving woman,\n Even though she allure you.\n Nor marry (your girls)\n To unbelievers until\n They believe:\n A man slave who believes\n Is better than an unbeliever,\n Even though he allure you.\n Unbelievers do (but)\n Beckon you to the Fire.\n But God beckons by His Grace\n To the Garden (of Bliss)\n And forgiveness,\n And makes His Signs\n Clear to mankind:\n That they may\n Celebrate His praise.","title":"The Quran: S\u016bra II.: Baqara, or the Heifer.: Section 27 (217-221)","type":"page"}
