Waallatee ya/teena alfahishata min nisa-ikum faistashhidoo AAalayhinna arbaAAatan minkum fa-in shahidoo faamsikoohunna fee albuyooti hatta yatawaffahunna almawtu aw yajAAala Allahu lahunna sabeelan\n15. If any of your women\n Are guilty of lewdness,\n Take the evidence of four\n (Reliable) witnesses from amongst you\n Against them; and if they testify,\n Confine them to houses until\n Death do claim them,\nOr God ordain for them\n Some (other) way.\n16. Waallathani ya/tiyaniha minkum faathoohuma fa-in taba waaslaha faaAAridoo AAanhuma inna Allaha kana tawwaban raheeman\n16. If two men among you\n Are guilty of lewdness,\n Punish them both.\n If they repent and amend,\n Leave them alone; for God\n Is Oft-returning, Most Merciful.\n17. Innama alttawbatu AAala Allahi lillatheena yaAAmaloona alssoo-a bijahalatin thumma yatooboona min qareebin faola-ika yatoobu Allahu AAalayhim wakana Allahu AAaleeman hakeeman\n17. God accepts the repentance\n Of those who do evil\n In ignorance and repent\n Soon afterwards; to them\n Will God turn in mercy:\n For God is full of knowledge\n And wisdom.\n18. Walaysati alttawbatu lillatheena yaAAmaloona alssayyi-ati hatta itha hadara ahadahumu almawtu qala innee tubtu al-ana wala allatheena yamootoona wahum kuffarun ola-ika aAAtadna lahum AAathaban aleeman\n18. Of no effect is the repentance\n Of those who continue\n To do evil, until Death\n Faces one of them, and he says,\n \"Now have I repented indeed;\"\n Nor of those who die\n Rejecting Faith: for them\n Have we prepared\n A punishment most grievous.\n19. Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la yahillu lakum an tarithoo alnnisaa karhan wala taAAduloohunna litathhaboo bibaAAdi ma ataytumoohunna illa an ya/teena bifahishatin mubayyinatin waAAashiroohunna bialmaAAroofi fa-in karihtumoohunna faAAasa an takrahoo shay-an wayajAAala Allahu feehi khayran katheeran\n19. O ye who believe!\n Ye are forbidden to inherit\n Women against their will.\n Nor should ye treat them\nWith harshness, that ye may\n Take away part of the dower\n Ye have given them,\u2014except\n Where they have been guilty\n Of open lewdness;\n On the contrary live with them\n On a footing of kindness and equity.\n If ye take a dislike to them\n It may be that ye dislike\n A thing, and God brings about\n Through it a great deal of good.\n20. Wa-in aradtumu istibdala zawjin makana zawjin waataytum ihdahunna qintaran fala ta/khuthoo minhu shay-an ata/khuthoonahu buhtanan wa-ithman mubeenan\n20. But if ye decide to take\n One wife in place of another,\n Even if ye had given the latter\n A whole treasure for dower,\n Take not the least bit of it back:\n Would ye take it by slander\n And a manifest wrong?\n21. Wakayfa ta/khuthoonahu waqad afda baAAdukum ila baAAdin waakhathna minkum meethaqan ghaleethan\n21. And how could ye take it\n When ye have gone in\n Unto each other, and they have\n Taken from you a solemn covenant?\n22. Wala tankihoo ma nakaha abaokum mina alnnisa-i illa ma qad salafa innahu kana fahishatan wamaqtan wasaa sabeelan\n22.
