Waotlu AAalayhim nabaa ibnay adama bialhaqqi ith qarraba qurbanan fatuqubbila min ahadihima walam yutaqabbal mina al-akhari qala laaqtulannaka qala innama yataqabbalu Allahu mina almuttaqeena\n27. 30 Recite to them the truth\n Of the story of the two sons\nOf Adam. Behold! they each\n Presented a sacrifice (to God):\n It was accepted from one,\n But not from the other.\n Said the latter: \"Be sure\n I will slay thee.\" \"Surely,\"\n Said the former, \"God\n Doth accept of the sacrifice\n Of those who are righteous.\n28. La-in basatta ilayya yadaka litaqtulanee ma ana bibasitin yadiya ilayka li-aqtulaka innee akhafu Allaha rabba alAAalameena\n28. 31\"If thou dost stretch thy hand\n Against me, to slay me,\n It is not for me to stretch\n My hand against thee\n To slay thee: for I do fear\n God, the Cherisher of the Worlds.\n29. Innee oreedu an taboo-a bi-ithmee wa-ithmika fatakoona min as-habi alnnari wathalika jazao alththalimeena\n29. 32 \"For me, I intend to let\n Thee draw on thyself\n My sin as well as thine,\n For thou wilt be among\n The Companions of the Fire,\n And that is the reward\n Of those who do wrong.\"\n30. FatawwaAAat lahu nafsuhu qatla akheehi faqatalahu faasbaha mina alkhasireena\n30. 33 The (selfish) soul of the other\n Led him to the murder\n Of his brother: he murdered\n Him, and became (himself)\n One of the lost ones.\n31. FabaAAatha Allahu ghuraban yabhathu fee al-ardi liyuriyahu kayfa yuwaree saw-ata akheehi qala ya waylata aAAajaztu an akoona mithla hatha alghurabi faowariya saw-ata akhee faasbaha mina alnnadimeena\n31. 34 Then God sent a raven,\n Who scratched the ground,\nTo show him how to hide\n The shame of his brother.\n \"Woe is me!\" said he;\n \"Was I not even able\n To be as this raven,\n And to hide the shame\n Of my brother?\" Then he became\n Full of regrets\u2014\n32. Min ajli thalika katabna AAala banee isra-eela annahu man qatala nafsan bighayri nafsin aw fasadin fee al-ardi fakaannama qatala alnnasa jameeAAan waman ahyaha fakaannama ahya alnnasa jameeAAan walaqad jaat-hum rusuluna bialbayyinati thumma inna katheeran minhum baAAda thalika fee al-ardi lamusrifoona\n32. 35 On that account: We ordained\n For the Children of Israel\n That if any one slew\n A person\u2014unless it be\n For murder or for spreading\n Mischief in the land\u2014\n It would be as if\n He slew the whole people:\n And if any one saved a life,\n It would be as if he saved\n The life of the whole people.\n Then although there came\n To them Our Apostles\n With Clear Signs, yet,\n Even after that, many\n Of them continued to commit\n Excesses in the land.\n33. Innama jazao allatheena yuhariboona Allaha warasoolahu wayasAAawna fee al-ardi fasadan an yuqattaloo aw yusallaboo aw tuqattaAAa aydeehim waarjuluhum min khilafin aw yunfaw mina al-ardi thalika lahum khizyun fee alddunya walahum fee al-akhirati AAathabun AAatheemun\n33. 36 The punishment of those\n Who wage war against God\n And His Apostle, and strive\n With might and main\n For mischief through the land\n Is: execution, or crucifixion,\nOr the cutting off of hands\n And feet from opposite sides,\n Or exile from the land:\n That is their disgrace\n In this world, and\n A heavy punishment is theirs\n In the Hereafter;\n34.
