Qul la ajidu feema oohiya ilayya muharraman AAala taAAimin yatAAamuhu illa an yakoona maytatan aw daman masfoohan aw lahma khinzeerin fa-innahu rijsun aw fisqan ohilla lighayri Allahi bihi famani idturra ghayra baghin wala AAadin fa-inna rabbaka ghafoorun raheemun\n145. Say: \"I find not\n In the Message received\n By me by inspiration\n Any (meat) forbidden\n To be eaten by one\n Who wishes to eat it,\n Unless it be dead meat,\n Or blood poured forth,\nOr the flesh of swine,\u2014\n For it is an abomination\u2014\n Or, what is impious, (meat)\n On which a name has been\n Invoked, other than God's.\"\n But (even so), if a person\n Is forced by necessity,\n Without wilful disobedience,\n Nor transgressing due limits,\u2014\n Thy Lord is Oft-forgiving,\n Most Merciful.\n146. WaAAala allatheena hadoo harramna kulla thee thufurin wamina albaqari waalghanami harramna AAalayhim shuhoomahuma illa ma hamalat thuhooruhuma awi alhawaya aw ma ikhtalata biAAathmin thalika jazaynahum bibaghyihim wa-inna lasadiqoona\n146. For those who followed\n The Jewish Law, We forbade\n Every (animal) with\n Undivided hoof,\n And We forbade them\n The fat of the ox\n And the sheep, except\n What adheres to their backs\n Or their entrails,\n Or is mixed up\n With a bone:\n This in recompense\n For their wilful disobedience:\n For We are True\n (In Our ordinances).\n147. Fa-in kaththabooka faqul rabbukum thoo rahmatin wasiAAatin wala yuraddu ba/suhu AAani alqawmi almujrimeena\n147. If they accuse thee\n Of falsehood, say:\n \"Your Lord is full\n Of mercy all-embracing;\n But from people in guilt\n Never will His wrath\n Be turned back.\n148. Sayaqoolu allatheena ashrakoo law shaa Allahu ma ashrakna wala abaona wala harramna min shay-in kathalika kaththaba allatheena min qablihim hatta thaqoo ba/sana qul hal AAindakum min AAilmin fatukhrijoohu lana in tattabiAAoona illa alththanna wa-in antum illa takhrusoona\n148. Those who give partners\n (To God) will say:\n\"If God had wished,\n We should not have\n Given partners to Him,\n Nor would our fathers;\n Nor should we have had\n Any taboos.\" So did\n Their ancestors argue\n Falsely, until they tasted\n Of Our wrath. Say:\n \"Have ye any (certain)\n Knowledge? If so, produce\n It before us. Ye follow\n Nothing but conjecture:\n Ye do nothing but lie.\"\n149. Qul falillahi alhujjatu albalighatu falaw shaa lahadakum ajmaAAeena\n149. Say: \"With God is the argument\n That reaches home: if it had\n Been His Will, He could\n Indeed have guided you all.\"\n150. Qul halumma shuhadaakumu allatheena yashhadoona anna Allaha harrama hatha fa-in shahidoo fala tashhad maAAahum wala tattabiAA ahwaa allatheena kaththaboo bi-ayatina waallatheena la yu/minoona bial-akhirati wahum birabbihim yaAAdiloona\n150. Say: \"Bring forward your witnesses\n To prove that God did\n Forbid so and so.\" If they\n Bring such witnesses,\n Be not thou amongst them:\n Nor follow thou the vain\n Desires of such as treat\n Our Signs as falsehoods,\n And such as believe not\n In the Hereafter: for they\n Hold others as equal\n With their Guardian-Lord.","title":"The Quran: S\u016bra VI.: An\u2019\u0101m, or Cattle.: Section 18 (145-150)","type":"page"}
