Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo ma lakum itha qeela lakumu infiroo fee sabeeli Allahi iththaqaltum ila al-ardi aradeetum bialhayati alddunya mina al-akhirati fama mataAAu alhayati alddunya fee al-akhirati illa qaleelun\n38. O ye who believe! what\n Is the matter with you,\n That, when ye are asked\n To go forth in the Cause of God,\n Ye cling heavily to the earth?\n Do ye prefer the life\n Of this world to the Hereafter?\n But little is the comfort\n Of this life, as compared\n With the Hereafter.\n39. Illa tanfiroo yuAAaththibkum AAathaban aleeman wayastabdil qawman ghayrakum wala tadurroohu shay-an waAllahu AAala kulli shay-in qadeerun\n39. Unless ye go forth,\n He will punish you\n With a grievous penalty,\n And put others in your place;\n But Him ye would not harm\n In the least. For God\n Hath power over all things.\n40. Illa tansuroohu faqad nasarahu Allahu ith akhrajahu allatheena kafaroo thaniya ithnayni ith huma fee alghari ith yaqoolu lisahibihi la tahzan inna Allaha maAAana faanzala Allahu sakeenatahu AAalayhi waayyadahu bijunoodin lam tarawha wajaAAala kalimata allatheena kafaroo alssufla wakalimatu Allahi hiya alAAulya waAllahu AAazeezun hakeemun\n40. If ye help not (your Leader),\n (it is no matter): for God\n Did indeed help him,\n When the Unbelievers\n Drove him out: he had\n No more than one companion:\n They two were in the Cave,\n And he said to his companion,\n \"Have no fear, for God\n Is with us\": then God\n Sent down His peace upon him,\n And strengthened him with forces\n Which ye saw not, and humbled\n To the depths the word\n Of the Unbelievers.\n But the word of God\n Is exalted to the heights:\n For God is Exalted in might, Wise\n41. Infiroo khifafan wathiqalan wajahidoo bi-amwalikum waanfusikum fee sabeeli Allahi thalikum khayrun lakum in kuntum taAAlamoona\n41. Go ye forth, (whether equipped)\n Lightly or heavily, and strive\n And struggle, with your goods\n And your persons, in the Cause\n Of God. That is best\n For you, if ye (but) knew.\n42. Law kana AAaradan qareeban wasafaran qasidan laittabaAAooka walakin baAAudat AAalayhimu alshshuqqatu wasayahlifoona biAllahi lawi istataAAna lakharajna maAAakum yuhlikoona anfusahum waAllahu yaAAlamu innahum lakathiboona\n42. If there had been\n Immediate gain (in sight),\n And the journey easy,\n They would (all) without doubt\n Have followed thee, but\n The distance was long,\n (And weighed) on them.\n They would indeed swear\n By God, \"If we only could,\n We should certainly\n Have come out with you:\"\n They would destroy their own souls;\n For God doth know\n That they are certainly lying.","title":"The Quran: S\u016bra IX.: Tauba (Repentance) or Bar\u0101at (Immunity).: Section 6 (38-42)","type":"page"}
