Fariha almukhallafoona bimaqAAadihim khilafa rasooli Allahi wakarihoo an yujahidoo bi-amwalihim waanfusihim fee sabeeli Allahi waqaloo la tanfiroo fee alharri qul naru jahannama ashaddu harran law kanoo yafqahoona\n81. Those who were left behind\n (In the Tab\u016bk expedition)\n Rejoiced in their inaction\n Behind the back of the Apostle\n Of God: they hated to strive\n And fight, with their goods\n And their persons, in the Cause\n Of God: they said,\n \"Go not forth in the heat.\"\n Say, \"The fire of Hell\n Is fiercer in heat.\" If\n Only they could understand!\n82. Falyadhakoo qaleelan walyabkoo katheeran jazaan bima kanoo yaksiboona\n82. Let them laugh a little:\n Much will they weep:\nA recompense for the (evil)\n That they do.\n83. Fa-in rajaAAaka Allahu ila ta-ifatin minhum faista/thanooka lilkhurooji faqul lan takhrujoo maAAiya abadan walan tuqatiloo maAAiya AAaduwwan innakum radeetum bialquAAoodi awwala marratin faoqAAudoo maAAa alkhalifeena\n83. If, then, God bring thee back\n To any of them, and they ask\n Thy permission to come out\n (With thee), say: \"Never shall ye\n Come out with me, nor fight\n An enemy with me:\n For ye preferred to sit\n Inactive on the first occasion:\n Then sit ye (now)\n With those who lag behind.\"\n84. Wala tusalli AAala ahadin minhum mata abadan wala taqum AAala qabrihi innahum kafaroo biAllahi warasoolihi wamatoo wahum fasiqoona\n84. Nor do thou ever pray\n For any of them that dies,\n Nor stand at his grave;\n For they rejected God\n And His Apostle, and died\n In a state of perverse rebellion.\n85. Wala tuAAjibka amwaluhum waawladuhum innama yureedu Allahu an yuAAaththibahum biha fee alddunya watazhaqa anfusuhum wahum kafiroona\n85. Nor let their wealth\n Nor their (following in) sons\n Dazzle thee: God's Plan\n Is to punish them\n With these things in this world,\n And that their souls may perish\n In their (very) denial of God.\n86. Wa-itha onzilat sooratun an aminoo biAllahi wajahidoo maAAa rasoolihi ista/thanaka oloo alttawli minhum waqaloo tharna nakun maAAa alqaAAideena\n86. When a S\u016bra comes down,\n Enjoining them to believe\n In God and to strive and fight\n Along with His Apostle,\n Those with wealth and influence\n Among them ask thee\n For exemption, and say:\n \"Leave us (behind): we\n Would be with those\n Who sit (at home).\"\n87. Radoo bi-an yakoonoo maAAa alkhawalifi watubiAAa AAala quloobihim fahum la yafqahoona\n87. They prefer to be with (the women),\n Who remain behind (at home):\n Their hearts are sealed\n And so they understand not.\n88. Lakini alrrasoolu waallatheena amanoo maAAahu jahadoo bi-amwalihim waanfusihim waola-ika lahumu alkhayratu waola-ika humu almuflihoona\n88. But the Apostle, and those\n Who believe with him,\n Strive and fight with their wealth\n And their persons: for them\n Are (all) good things:\n And it is they\n Who will prosper.\n89. aAAadda Allahu lahum jannatin tajree min tahtiha al-anharu khalideena feeha thalika alfawzu alAAatheemu\n89.
