Alif-lam-ra tilka ayatu alkitabi almubeenu\n1. A. L. R. These are\n The Symbols (or Verses)\n Of the Perspicuous Book.\n2. Inna anzalnahu qur-anan AAarabiyyan laAAallakum taAAqiloona\n2. We have sent it down\n As an Arabic Qur-\u0101n,\n In order that ye may\n Learn wisdom.\n3. Nahnu naqussu AAalayka ahsana alqasasi bima awhayna ilayka hatha alqur-ana wa-in kunta min qablihi lamina alghafileena\n3. We do relate unto thee\n The most beautiful of stories,\n In that We reveal to thee\n This (portion of the) Qur-\u0101n:\n Before this, thou too\n Was among those\n Who knew it not.\n4. Ith qala yoosufu li-abeehi ya abati innee raaytu ahada AAashara kawkaban waalshshamsa waalqamara raaytuhum lee sajideena\n4. Behold, Joseph said\n To his father: \"O my father!\nI did see eleven stars\n And the sun and the moon:\n I saw them prostrate themselves\n To me!\"\n5. Qala ya bunayya la taqsus ru/yaka AAala ikhwatika fayakeedoo laka kaydan inna alshshaytana lil-insani AAaduwwun mubeenun\n5. Said (the father):\n \"My (dear) little son!\n Relate not thy vision\n To thy brothers, lest they\n Concoct a plot against thee:\n For Satan is to man\n An avowed enemy!\n6. Wakathalika yajtabeeka rabbuka wayuAAallimuka min ta/weeli al-ahadeethi wayutimmu niAAmatahu AAalayka waAAala ali yaAAqooba kama atammaha AAala abawayka min qablu ibraheema wa-ishaqa inna rabbaka AAaleemun hakeemun\n6. \"Thus will thy Lord\n Choose thee and teach thee\n The interpretation of stories (and events)\n And perfect His favour\n To thee and to the posterity\n Of Jacob\u2014even as He\n Perfected it to thy fathers\n Abraham and Isaac aforetime!\n For God is full of knowledge\n And wisdom.\"","title":"The Quran: S\u016bra XII.: Y\u016bsuf, or Joseph.: Sectio...","type":"page"}
