Falamma istay-asoo minhu khalasoo najiyyan qala kabeeruhum alam taAAlamoo anna abakum qad akhatha AAalaykum mawthiqan mina Allahi wamin qablu ma farrattum fee yoosufa falan abraha al-arda hatta ya/thana lee abee aw yahkuma Allahu lee wahuwa khayru alhakimeena\n80. Now when they saw\n No hope of his (yielding),\n They held a conference in private.\n The leader among them said:\n \"Know ye not that your father\n Did take an oath from you\n In God's name, and how,\n Before this, ye did fail\nIn your duty with Joseph?\n Therefore will I not leave\n This land until my father\n Permits me, or God\n Commands me; and He\n Is the best to command.\n81. IrjiAAoo ila abeekum faqooloo ya abana inna ibnaka saraqa wama shahidna illa bima AAalimna wama kunna lilghaybi hafitheena\n81. \"Turn ye back to your father,\n And say, \"O our father!\n Behold! thy son committed theft!\n We bear witness only to what\n We know, and we could not\n Well guard against the unseen!\n82. Wais-ali alqaryata allatee kunna feeha waalAAeera allatee aqbalna feeha wa-inna lasadiqoona\n82. \"Ask at the town where\n We have been and the caravan\n In which we returned,\n And (you will find) we are\n Indeed telling the truth.\"\n83. Qala bal sawwalat lakum anfusukum amran fasabrun jameelun AAasa Allahu an ya/tiyanee bihim jameeAAan innahu huwa alAAaleemu alhakeemu\n83. Jacob said: \"Nay, but ye\n Have yourselves contrived\n A story (good enough) for you.\n So patience is most fitting\n (For me). Maybe God will\n Bring them (back) all\n To me (in the end).\n For He is indeed full\n Of knowledge and wisdom.\n84. Watawalla AAanhum waqala ya asafa AAala yoosufa waibyaddat AAaynahu mina alhuzni fahuwa katheemun\n84. And he turned away from them,\n And said: \"How great\n Is my grief for Joseph!\"\n And his eyes became white\n With sorrow, and he fell\n Into silent melancholy.\n85. Qaloo taAllahi taftao tathkuru yoosufa hatta takoona haradan aw takoona mina alhalikeena\n85. They said: \"By God!\n (Never) wilt thou cease\n To remember Joseph\n Until thou reach the last\n Extremity of illness,\n Or until thou die!\"\n86. Qala innama ashkoo baththee wahuznee ila Allahi waaAAlamu mina Allahi ma la taAAlamoona\n86. He said: \"I only complain\n Of my distraction and anguish\n To God, and I know from God\n That which ye know not\u2026\n87. Ya baniyya ithhaboo fatahassasoo min yoosufa waakheehi wala tay-asoo min rawhi Allahi innahu la yay-asu min rawhi Allahi illa alqawmu alkafiroona\n87. \"O my sons! go ye\n And enquire about Joseph\n And his brother, and never\n Give up hope of God's\n Soothing Mercy: truly\n No one despairs of God's\nSoothing Mercy, except\n Those who have no faith.\"\n88. Falamma dakhaloo AAalayhi qaloo ya ayyuha alAAazeezu massana waahlana alddurru waji/na bibidaAAatin muzjatin faawfi lana alkayla watasaddaq AAalayna inna Allaha yajzee almutasaddiqeena\n88. Then, when they came\n (Back) into (Joseph's) presence\n They said: \"O exalted one!\n Distress has seized us\n And our family: we have\n (Now) brought but scanty capital:\n So pay us full measure,\n (We pray thee), and treat it\n As charity to us: for God\n Doth reward the charitable.\"\n89. Qala hal AAalimtum ma faAAaltum biyoosufa waakheehi ith antum jahiloona\n89. He said: \"Know ye\n How ye dealt with Joseph\n And his brother, not knowing\n (What ye were doing)?\"\n90. Qaloo a-innaka laanta yoosufa qala ana yoosufu wahatha akhee qad manna Allahu AAalayna innahu man yattaqi wayasbir fa-inna Allaha la yudeeAAu ajra almuhsineena\n90. They said: \"Art thou indeed\n Joseph?\" He said . \"I am\n Joseph, and this is my brother:\n God has indeed been gracious\nTo us (all): behold, he that is\n Righteous and patient,\u2014never\n Will God suffer the reward\n To be lost, of those\n Who do right.\"\n91. Qaloo taAllahi laqad atharaka Allahu AAalayna wa-in kunna lakhati-eena\n91. They said: \"By God! Indeed\n Has God preferred thee\n Above us, and we certainly\n Have been guilty of sin!\"\n92. Qala la tathreeba AAalaykumu alyawma yaghfiru Allahu lakum wahuwa arhamu alrrahimeena\n92. He said: \"This day\n Let no reproach be (cast)\n On you; God will forgive you,\n And He is the Most Merciful\n Of those who show mercy!\n93. Ithhaboo biqameesee hatha faalqoohu AAala wajhi abee ya/ti baseeran wa/toonee bi-ahlikum ajmaAAeena\n93. \"Go with this my shirt,\n And cast it over the face\n Of my father: he will\n Come to see (clearly).
