Walaqad arsalna noohan ila qawmihi faqala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu afala tattaqoona\n23. (Further, We sent a long line\n Of prophets for your instruction).\n We sent Noah to his people:\n He said, \"O my people!\n Worship God! Ye have\n No other god but Him.\n Will ye not fear (Him)?\"\n24. Faqala almalao allatheena kafaroo min qawmihi ma hatha illa basharun mithlukum yureedu an yatafaddala AAalaykum walaw shaa Allahu laanzala mala-ikatan ma samiAAna bihatha fee aba-ina al-awwaleena\n24. The chiefs of the Unbelievers\n Among his people said:\n \"He is no more than a man\n Like yourselves: his wish is\n To assert his superiority\n Over you: if God had wished\n (To send messengers),\n He could have sent down\n Angels: never did we hear\n Such a thing (as he says),\n Among our ancestors of old.\"\n25. In huwa illa rajulun bihi jinnatun fatarabbasoo bihi hatta heenin\n25. (And some said): \"He is\n Only a man possessed:\n Wait (and have patience)\n With him for a time.\"\n26. Qala rabbi onsurnee bima kaththabooni\n26. (Noah) said: \"O my Lord!\n Help me: for that they\n Accuse me of falsehood!\"\n27. Faawhayna ilayhi ani isnaAAi alfulka bi-aAAyunina wawahyina fa-itha jaa amruna wafara alttannooru faosluk feeha min kullin zawjayni ithnayni waahlaka illa man sabaqa AAalayhi alqawlu minhum wala tukhatibnee fee allatheena thalamoo innahum mughraqoona\n27. So We inspired him\n (With this message): \"Construct\n The Ark within Our sight\n And under Our guidance: then\n When comes Our command,\n And the fountains of the earth\n Gush forth, take thou on board\n Pairs of every species, male\n And female, and thy family\u2014\n Except those of them\n Against whom the Word\n Has already gone forth:\n And address Me not\n In favour of the wrong-doers;\n For they shall be drowned\n (In the Flood).\n28. Fa-itha istawayta anta waman maAAaka AAala alfulki faquli alhamdu lillahi allathee najjana mina alqawmi alththalimeena\n28. And when thou hast embarked\n On the Ark\u2014thou and those\n With thee,\u2014say: \"Praise be\n To God, Who has saved us\n From the people who do wrong.\"\n29. Waqul rabbi anzilnee munzalan mubarakan waanta khayru almunzileena\n29. And say: \"O my Lord!\n Enable me to disembark\n With Thy blessing: for Thou\n Art the Best to enable (us)\n To disembark.\"\n30. Inna fee thalika laayatin wa-in kunna lamubtaleena\n30. Verily in this there are\n Signs (for men to understand);\n (Thus) do We try (men).\"\n31. Thumma ansha/na min baAAdihim qarnan akhareena\n31. Then We raised after them\n Another generation.\n32. Faarsalna feehim rasoolan minhum ani oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu afala tattaqoona\n32. And We sent to them\n An apostle from among themselves,\n (Saying), \"Worship God!\n Ye have no other god\n But Him.
