Walaqad atayna moosa alkitaba wajaAAalna maAAahu akhahu haroona wazeeran\n35. (Before this,) We sent Moses\n The Book, and appointed\n His brother Aaron with him\n As Minister;\n36. Faqulna ithhaba ila alqawmi allatheena kaththaboo bi-ayatina fadammarnahum tadmeeran\n36. And We commanded: \"Go ye\n Both, to the people who\n Have rejected our Signs:\"\n And those (people) We destroyed\n With utter destruction.\n37. Waqawma noohin lamma kaththaboo alrrusula aghraqnahum wajaAAalnahum lilnnasi ayatan waaAAtadna lilththalimeena AAathaban aleeman\n37. And the people of Noah,\u2014\n When they rejected the apostles,\n We drowned them,\n And We made them\n As a Sign for mankind;\n And We have prepared\n For (all) wrong-doers\n A grievous Penalty;\u2014\n38. WaAAadan wathamooda waas-haba alrrassi waquroonan bayna thalika katheeran\n38. As also \u2019Ad and Tham\u016bd,\n And the Companions\nOf the Rass, and many\n A generation between them.\n39. Wakullan darabna lahu al-amthala wakullan tabbarna tatbeeran\n39. To each one We set forth\n Parables and examples;\n And each one We broke\n To utter annihilation\n (For their sins).\n40. Walaqad ataw AAala alqaryati allatee omtirat matara alssaw-i afalam yakoonoo yarawnaha bal kanoo la yarjoona nushooran\n40. And the (Unbelievers) must indeed\n Have passed by the town\n On which was rained\n A shower of evil: did they not\n Then see it (with their own\n Eyes)? But they fear not\n The Resurrection.\n41. Wa-itha raawka in yattakhithoonaka illa huzuwan ahatha allathee baAAatha Allahu rasoolan\n41. When they see thee,\n They treat thee no otherwise\n Than in mockery: \"Is this\n The one whom God has sent\n As an apostle?\"\n42. In kada layudilluna AAan alihatina lawla an sabarna AAalayha wasawfa yaAAlamoona heena yarawna alAAathaba man adallu sabeelan\n42. \"He indeed would well-nigh\n Have misled us from\n Our gods, had it not been\n That we were constant\n To them!\"\u2014Soon will they\n Know, when they see\n The Penalty, who it is\n That is most misled\n In Path!\n43. Araayta mani ittakhatha ilahahu hawahu afaanta takoonu AAalayhi wakeelan\n43. Seest thou such a one\n As taketh for his god\n His own passion (or impulse)?\n Couldst thou be a disposer\n Of affairs for him?\n44. Am tahsabu anna aktharahum yasmaAAoona aw yaAAqiloona in hum illa kaal-anAAami bal hum adallu sabeelan\n44.
