Ith qala li-abeehi waqawmihi ma taAAbudoona\n70. And rehearse to them\n (Something of) Abraham's story.\n71. Qaloo naAAbudu asnaman fanathallu laha AAakifeena\n71. Behold, he said\n To his father and his people:\n \"What worship ye?\"\n72. Qala hal yasmaAAoonakum ith tadAAoona\n72. They said: \"We worship\n Idols, and we remain constantly\n In attendance on them.\"\n73. Aw yanfaAAoonakum aw yadurroona\n73. He said: \"Do they listen\n To you when ye call (on them),\n Or do you good or harm?\"\n74. Qaloo bal wajadna abaana kathalika yafAAaloona\n74. They said: \"Nay, but we\n Found our fathers doing\n Thus (what we do).\"\n75. Qala afaraaytum ma kuntum taAAbudoona\n75. He said: \"Do ye then\n See whom ye have been\n Worshipping,\u2014\n76. Antum waabaokumu al-aqdamoona\n76. \"Ye and your fathers before you?\u2014\n77. Fa-innahum AAaduwwun lee illa rabba alAAalameena\n77. \"For they are enemies to me;\n Not so the Lord and Cherisher\n Of the Worlds;\n78. Allathee khalaqanee fahuwa yahdeeni\n78. \"Who created me, and\n It is He who guides me;\n79. Waallathee huwa yutAAimunee wayasqeeni\n79. \"Who gives me food and drink,\n80. Wa-itha maridtu fahuwa yashfeeni\n80. \"And when I am ill,\n It is He who cures me;\n81. Waallathee yumeetunee thumma yuhyeeni\n81. \"Who will cause me to die,\n And then to live (again);\n82. Waallathee atmaAAu an yaghfira lee khatee-atee yawma alddeeni\n82. \"And who, I hope,\n Will forgive me my faults\n On the Day of Judgment.\n83. Rabbi hab lee hukman waalhiqnee bialssaliheena\n83. \"O my Lord! bestow wisdom\n On me, and join me\n With the righteous;\n84. WaijAAal lee lisana sidqin fee al-akhireena\n84. \"Grant me honourable mention\n On the tongue of truth\n Among the latest (generations);\n85. WaijAAalnee min warathati jannati alnnaAAeemi\n85. \"Make me one of the inheritors\n Of the Garden of Bliss;\n86. Waighfir li-abee innahu kana mina alddalleena\n86. \"Forgive my father, for that\n He is among those astray;\n87. Wala tukhzinee yawma yubAAathoona\n87. \"And let me not be\n In disgrace on the Day\n When (men) will be raised up;\u2014\n88. Yawma la yanfaAAu malun wala banoona\n88. \"The Day whereon neither\n Wealth nor sons will avail,\n89. Illa man ata Allaha biqalbin saleemin\n89. \"But only he (will prosper)\n That brings to God\n A sound heart;\n90. Waozlifati aljannatu lilmuttaqeena\n90. \"To the righteous, the Garden\n Will be brought near,\n91. Waburrizati aljaheemu lilghaweena\n91. \"And to those straying in Evil,\n The Fire will be placed\n In full view;\n92. Waqeela lahum ayna ma kuntum taAAbudoona\n92. \"And it shall be said\n To them, 'Where are\n The (gods) ye worshipped\u2014\n93. Min dooni Allahi hal yansuroonakum aw yantasiroona\n93. \"'Besides God? Can they\n Help you or help themselves?'\n94. Fakubkiboo feeha hum waalghawoona\n94. \"Then they will be thrown\n Headlong into the (Fire),\u2014\n They and those straying\n In Evil,\n95. Wajunoodu ibleesa ajmaAAoona\n95. \"And the whole hosts\n Of Ibl\u012bs together.\n96. Qaloo wahum feeha yakhtasimoona\n96. \"They will say there\n In their mutual bickerings:\n97. TaAllahi in kunna lafee dalalin mubeenin\n97. \"'By God, we were truly\n In an error manifest,\n98. Ith nusawweekum birabbi alAAalameena\n98. \"'When we held you as equals\n With the Lord of the Worlds;\n99. Wama adallana illa almujrimoona\n99. \"'And our seducers were\n Only those who were\n Steeped in guilt.\n100. Fama lana min shafiAAeena\n100. \"'Now, then, we have none\n To intercede (for us),\n101. \"'Nor a single friend\n To feel (for us).\n102. Falaw anna lana karratan fanakoona mina almu/mineena\n102. \"'Now if we only had\n A chance of return,\n We shall truly be\n Of those who believe!'\"\n103. Inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mu/mineena\n103. Verily in this is a Sign\n But most of them\n Do not believe.\n104. Wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu\n104.
