Qalat ya ayyuha almalao aftoonee fee amree ma kuntu qatiAAatan amran hatta tashhadoona\n32. the said: \"Ye chiefs!\n Advise me in (this)\n My affair: no affair\n Have I decided\n Except in your presence.\"\n33. Qaloo nahnu oloo quwwatin waoloo ba/sin shadeedin waal-amru ilayki faonthuree matha ta/mureena\n33. They said: \"We are endued\n With strength, and given\n To vehement war:\n But the command is\n With thee; so consider\n What thou wilt command.\"\n34. Qalat inna almulooka itha dakhaloo qaryatan afsadooha wajaAAaloo aAAizzata ahliha athillatan wakathalika yafAAaloona\n34. She said: \"Kings, when they\n Enter a country, despoil it,\nAnd make the noblest\n Of its people its meanest\n Thus do they behave.\n35. Wa-innee mursilatun ilayhim bihadiyyatin fanathiratun bima yarjiAAu almursaloona\n35. \"But I am going to send\n Him a present, and (wait)\n To see with what (answer)\n Return (my) ambassadors.\"\n36. Falamma jaa sulaymana qala atumiddoonani bimalin fama ataniya Allahu khayrun mimma atakum bal antum bihadiyyatikum tafrahoona\n36. Now when (the embassy) came\n To Solomon, he said:\n \"Will ye give me abundance\n In wealth? But that which\n God has given me is better\n Than that which He has\n Given you! Nay it is ye\n Who rejoice in your gift!\n37. IrjiAA ilayhim falana/tiyannahum bijunoodin la qibala lahum biha walanukhrijannahum minha athillatan wahum saghiroona\n37. \"Go back to them, and be sure\n We shall come to them\n With such hosts as they\n Will never be able to meet:\n We shall expel them\n From there in disgrace,\n And they will feel\n Humbled (indeed).\"\n38. Qala ya ayyuha almalao ayyukum ya/teenee biAAarshiha qabla an ya/toonee muslimeena\n38. He said (to his own men):\n \"Ye Chiefs! which of you\n Can bring me her throne\n Before they come to me\n In submission?\"\n39. Qala AAifreetun mina aljinni ana ateeka bihi qabla an taqooma min maqamika wa-inne AAalayhi laqawiyyun ameenun\n39. Said an \u2018Ifrit, of the Jinns:\n \"I will bring it to thee\nBefore thou rise from thy\n Council: indeed I have\n Full strength for the purpose,\n And may he trusted.\"\n40. Qala allathee AAindahu AAilmun mina alkitabi ana ateeka bihi qabla an yartadda ilayka tarfuka falamma raahu mustaqirran AAindahu qala hatha min fadli rabbee liyabluwanee aashkuru am akfuru waman shakara fa-innama yashkuru linafsihi waman kafara fa-inna rabbee ghaniyyun kareemun\n40. Said one who had knowledge\n Of the Book: \"I will\n Bring it to thee within\n The twinkling of an eye!\"\n Then when (Solomon) saw it\n Placed firmly before him,\n He said: \"This is\n By the grace of my Lord!\n To test me whether I am\n Grateful or ungrateful!\n And if any is grateful,\n Truly his gratitude is (a gain)\n For his own soul; hut if\n Any is ungrateful, truly\n My Lord is Free of all Needs,\n Supreme in Honour!\"\n41. Qala nakkiroo laha AAarshaha nanthur atahtadee am takoonu mina allatheena la yahtadoona\n41. He said: \"Transform her throne\n Out of all recognition by her:\n Let us see whether she\n Is guided (to the truth)\nOr is one of those who\n Receive no guidance.\"\n42. Falamma jaat qeela ahakatha AAarshuki qalat kaannahu huwa waooteena alAAilma min qabliha wakunna muslimeena\n42. So when she arrived,\n She was asked, \"Is this\n Thy throne?\" She said,\n \"It was just like this;\n And knowledge was bestowed\n On us in advance of this,\n And we have submitted\n To God (in Islam).\"\n43. Wasaddaha ma kanat taAAbudu min dooni Allahi innaha kanat min qawmin kafireena\n43. And he diverted her\n From the worship of others\n Besides God: for she was\n (Sprung) of a people\n That had no faith.\n44. Qeela laha odkhulee alssarha falamma raat-hu hasibat-hu lujjatan wakashafat AAan saqayha qala innahu sarhun mumarradun min qawareera qalat rabbi innee thalamtu nafsee waaslamtu maAAa sulaymana lillahi rabbi alAAalameena\n44. She was asked to enter\n The lofty Palace: but\n When she saw it, she\n Thought it was a lake\n Of water, and she (tucked up\n Her skirts), uncovering her legs.\n He said: \"This is\n But a palace paved\nSmooth with slabs of glass.\"\n She said: \"O my Lord!\n I have indeed wronged\"\n My soul: I do (now)\n Submit (in Islam), with Solomon,\n To the Lord of the Worlds.\"","title":"The Quran: S\u016bra XXVII.: Naml, or the Ants.: Section 3 (32-44)","type":"page"}
