Ohshuroo allatheena thalamoo waazwajahum wama kanoo yaAAbudoona\n22. \"Bring ye up\",\n It shall be said,\n\"The wrong-doers\n And their wives,\n And the things they worshipped\u2014\n23. Min dooni Allahi faihdoohum ila sirati aljaheemi\n23. \"Besides God,\n And lead them to the Way\n To the (Fierce) Fire!\n24. Waqifoohum innahum masooloona\n24. \"But stop them,\n For they must be asked:\n25. \"What is the matter\n With you that ye\n Help not each other?\"\n26. Bal humu alyawma mustaslimoona\n26. Nay, but that day they\n Shall submit (to judgment);\n27. Waaqbala baAAduhum AAala baAAdin yatasaaloona\n27. And they will turn to\n One another, and question\n One another.\n28. Qaloo innakum kuntum ta/toonana AAani alyameeni\n28. They will say: \"It was ye\n Who used to come to us\n From the right hand\n (Of power and authority)!\"\n29. Qaloo bal lam takoonoo mu/mineena\n29. They will reply: \"Nay, ye\n Yourselves had no Faith!\n30. Wama kana lana AAalaykum min sultanin bal kuntum qawman tagheena\n30. \"Nor had we any authority\n Over you. Nay, it was\n Ye who were a people\n In obstinate rebellion!\n31. Fahaqqa AAalayna qawlu rabbina inna latha-iqoona\n31. \"So now has been proved true,\n Against us, the Word\n Of our Lord that we\n Shall indeed (have to) taste\n (The punishment of our sins).\n32. Faaghwaynakum inna kunna ghaweena\n32. \"We led you astray: for truly\n We were ourselves astray.\"\n33. Fa-innahum yawma-ithin fee alAAathabi mushtarikoona\n33. Truly, that Day, they will\n (All) share in the Penalty.\n34. Inna kathalika nafAAalu bialmujrimeena\n34. Verily that is how We\n Shall deal with Sinners.\n35. Innahum kanoo itha qeela lahum la ilaha illa Allahu yastakbiroona\n35. For they, when they were\n Told that there is\n No god except God, would\n Puff themselves up with Pride,\n36. Wayaqooloona a-inna latarikoo alihatina lishaAAirin majnoonin\n36. And say: \"What! Shall we\n Give up our gods.\n For the sake of\n A Poet possessed?\"\n37. Bal jaa bialhaqqi wasaddaqa almursaleena\n37. Nay! he has come\n With the (very) Truth,\n And he confirms (the Message\n Of) the apostles (before him).\n38. Innakum latha-iqoo alAAathabi al-aleemi\n38. Ye shall indeed taste\n Of the Grievous Penalty;\u2014\n39. Wama tujzawna illa ma kuntum taAAmaloona\n39. But it will be no more\n Than the retribution\n Of (the Evil) that ye\n Have wrought;\u2014\n40. Illa AAibada Allahi almukhlaseena\n40. But the sincere (and devoted)\n Servants of God,\u2014\n41. Ola-ika lahum rizqun maAAloomun\n41. For them is a Sustenance\n Determined,\n42. Fruits (Delights); and they\n (Shall enjoy) honour and dignity,\n43. In Gardens of Felicity,\n44. AAala sururin mutaqabileena\n44. Facing each other\n On Thrones (of dignity):\n45. Yutafu AAalayhim bika/sin min maAAeenin\n45. Round will be passed\n To them a Cup\n From a clear-flowing fountain,\n46. Baydaa laththatin lilshsharibeena\n46. Crystal-white, of a taste\n Delicious to those\n Who drink (thereof),\n47. La feeha ghawlun wala hum AAanha yunzafoona\n47. Free from headiness;\n Nor will they suffer\n Intoxication therefrom.\n48. WaAAindahum qasiratu alttarfi AAeenun\n48. And besides them will be\n Chaste women, restraining\n Their glances, with big eyes\n (Of wonder and beauty).\n49. Kaannahunna baydun maknoonun\n49. As if they were\n (Delicate) eggs closely guarded.\n50. Faaqbala baAAduhum AAala baAAdin yatasaaloona\n50. When they will turn to\n One another and question\n One another.\n51. Qala qa-ilun minhum innee kana lee qareenun\n51. One of them will start\n The talk and say:\n \"I had an intimate\n Companion (on the earth),\n52. Yaqoolu a-innaka lamina almusaddiqeena\n52. \"Who used to say,\n \"What! art thou amongst those\n Who bear witness to\n The truth (of the Message)?\n53. A-itha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman a-inna lamadeenoona\n53. \"When we die and become\n Dust and bones, shall we\n Indeed receive rewards\n And punishments?\"\n54. Qala hal antum muttaliAAoona\n54. (A voice) said: \"Would ye\n Like to look down?\"\n55. FaittalaAAa faraahu fee sawa-i aljaheemi\n55. He looked down\n And saw him\n In the midst of the Fire.\n56. Qala taAllahi in kidta laturdeeni\n56. He said: \"By God!\n Thou wast little short\n Of bringing me to perdition!\n57. Walawla niAAmatu rabbee lakuntu mina almuhdareena\n57. \"Had it not been for\n The Grace of my Lord,\n I should certainly have been\n Among those brought (there)!\n58. \"Is it (the case) that\n We shall not die,\n59. Illa mawtatana al-oola wama nahnu bimuAAaththabeena\n59. \"Except our first death,\n And that we\n Shall not be punished?\"\n60. Inna hatha lahuwa alfawzu alAAatheemu\n60. Verily this is\n The supreme achievement!\n61. Limithli hatha falyaAAmali alAAamiloona\n61. For the like of this\n Let all strive,\n Who wish to strive.\n62. Athalika khayrun nuzulan am shajaratu alzzaqqoomi\n62. Is that the better entertainment\n Or the Tree of Zaqq\u016bm?\n63. Inna jaAAalnaha fitnatan lilththalimeena\n63. For We have truly\n Made it (as) a trial\n For the wrong-doers.\n64. Innaha shajaratun takhruju fee asli aljaheemi\n64. For it is a tree\n That springs out\n Of the bottom of Hell-fire:\n65. TalAAuha kaannahu ruoosu alshshayateeni\n65. The shoots of its fruit-stalks\n Are like the heads\n Of devils:\n66. Fa-innahum laakiloona minha famali-oona minha albutoona\n66. Truly they will eat thereof\n And fill their bellies therewith.\n67. Thumma inna lahum AAalayha lashawban min hameemin\n67. Then on top of that\n They will be given\n A mixture made of\n Boiling water.\n68. Thumma inna marjiAAahum la-ila aljaheemi\n68. Then shall their return\n Be to the (Blazing) Fire.\n69. Innahum alfaw abaahum dalleena\n69. Truly they found their fathers\n On the wrong Path;\n70. Fahum AAala atharihim yuhraAAoona\n70. So they (too) were rushed\n Down on their footsteps!\n71. Walaqad dalla qablahum aktharu al-awwaleena\n71. And truly before them,\n Many of the ancients\n Went astray;\u2014\n72. Walaqad arsalna feehim munthireena\n72. But We sent aforetime,\n Among them, (apostles)\n To admonish them;\u2014\n73. Faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almunthareena\n73. Then see what was\n The End of those who\n Were admonished (but heeded not),\u2014\n74. Illa AAibada Allahi almukhlaseena\n74.
