Wa-inna yoonusa lamina almursaleena\n139. So also was Jonah\n Among those sent (by Us).\n140. Ith abaqa ila alfulki almashhooni\n140. When he ran away\n (Like a slave from captivity)\n To the ship (fully) laden,\n141. Fasahama fakana mina almudhadeena\n141. He (agreed to) cast lots,\n And he was condemned:\n142. Failtaqamahu alhootu wahuwa muleemun\n142. Then the big Fish\n Did swallow him,\n And he had done\n Acts worthy of blame.\n143. Falawla annahu kana mina almusabbiheena\n143. Had it not been\n That he (repented and)\n Glorified God,\n144. Lalabitha fee batnihi ila yawmi yubAAathoona\n144. He would certainly have\n Remained inside the Fish\n Till the Day of Resurrection.\n145. Fanabathnahu bialAAara-i wahuwa saqeemun\n145. But We cast him forth\n On the naked shore\n In a state of sickness,\n146. Waanbatna AAalayhi shajaratan min yaqteenin\n146. And We caused to grow,\n Over him, a spreading plant\n Of the Gourd kind.\n147. Waarsalnahu ila mi-ati alfin aw yazeedoona\n147. Now ask them their opinion:\n Is it that thy Lord\n Has (only) daughters, and they\n Have sons?\u2014\n150. Am khalaqna almala-ikata inathan wahum shahidoona\n150. Walada Allahu wa-innahum lakathiboona\n152. \"God has begotten children\"?\n But they are liars!\n153. Astafa albanati AAala albaneena\n153. Did He (then) choose\n Daughters rather than sons?\n154. Ma lakum kayfa tahkumoona\n154. What is the matter\n With you? How judge ye?\n155. Will ye not then\n Receive admonition?\n156. Am lakum sultanun mubeenun\n156. Or have ye\n An authority manifest?\n157. Fa/too bikitabikum in kuntum sadiqeena\n157. Then bring ye your Book\n (Of authority) if ye be\n Truthful!\n158. Waabsirhum fasawfa yubsiroona\n175. And watch them (how\n They fare), and they soon\n Shall see (how thou farest)!\n176. AfabiAAathabina yastaAAjiloona\n176. Do they wish (indeed)\n To hurry on our Punishment?\n177. Fa-itha nazala bisahatihim fasaa sabahu almunthareena\n177. But when it descends\n Into the open space\n Before them, evil will be\n The morning for those who\n Were warned (and heeded not)!\n178. Watawalla AAanhum hatta heenin\n178. So turn thou away\n From them for a little while,\n179. Waabsir fasawfa yubsiroona\n179. And watch (how they fare)\n And they soon shall see\n (How thou farest)!\n180.
