Wama yanthuru haola-i illa sayhatan wahidatan ma laha min fawaqin\n15. These (to-day) only wait\n For a single mighty Blast,\n Which (when it comes)\n Will brook no delay.\n16. Waqaloo rabbana AAajjil lana qittana qabla yawmi alhisabi\n16. They say: \"Our Lord!\n Hasten to us our sentence\n (Even) before the Day\n Of Account!\"\n17. Isbir AAala ma yaqooloona waothkur AAabdana dawooda tha al-aydi innahu awwabun\n17. Have patience at what they\n Say, and remember Our Servant\n David, the man of strength:\n For he ever turned (to God).\n18. Inna sakhkharna aljibala maAAahu yusabbihna bialAAashiyyi waal-ishraqi\n18. It was We that made\n The hills declare,\n In unison with him,\n Our Praises, at eventide\n And at break of day,\n19. Waalttayra mahshooratan kullun lahu awwabun\n19. And the birds gathered\n (In assemblies): all with him\n Did turn (to God).\n20. Washadadna mulkahu waataynahu alhikmata wafasla alkhitabi\n20. We strengthened his kingdom,\n And gave him wisdom\n And sound judgment\n In speech and decision.\n21. Wahal ataka nabao alkhasmi ith tasawwaroo almihraba\n21. Has the Story of\n The Disputants reached thee?\n Behold, they climbed over\n The wall of the private chamber;\n22. Ith dakhaloo AAala dawooda fafaziAAa minhum qaloo la takhaf khasmani bagha baAAduna AAala baAAdin faohkum baynana bialhaqqi wala tushtit waihdina ila sawa-i alssirati\n22. When they entered\n The presence of David,\n And he was terrified\n Of them, they said:\n \"Fear not: we are two\n Disputants, one of whom\n Has wronged the other:\n Decide now between us\n With truth, and treat us not\n With unjustice, but guide us\n To the even Path.\n23. Inna hatha akhee lahu tisAAun watisAAoona naAAjatan waliya naAAjatun wahidatun faqala akfilneeha waAAazzanee fee alkhitabi\n23. \"This man is my brother:\n He has nine and ninety\n Ewes, and I have (but) one:\n Yet he says, \"Commit her\n To my care,\" and is (moreover)\n Harsh to me in speech.\"\n24. Qala laqad thalamaka bisu-ali naAAjatika ila niAAajihi wa-inna katheeran mina alkhulata-i layabghee baAAduhum AAala baAAdin illa allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati waqaleelun ma hum wathanna dawoodu annama fatannahu faistaghfara rabbahu wakharra rakiAAan waanaba\n24. (David) said: \"He has\n Undoubtedly wronged thee\n In demanding thy (single) ewe\n To be added to his (flock\n Of) ewes: truly many\n Are the Partners (in business)\n Who wrong each other:\n Not so do those who believe\n And work deeds of righteousness,\n And how few are they?\"\u2026\n And David gathered that we\n Had tried him: he asked\n Forgiveness of his Lord,\n Fell down, bowing\n (In prostration), and turned\n (To God in repentance).\n25. Faghafarna lahu thalika wa-inna lahu AAindana lazulfa wahusna maabin\n25. So We forgave him\n This (lapse): he enjoyed,\n Indeed, a Near Approach to Us,\n And a beautiful Place\n Of (final) Return.\n26. Ya dawoodu inna jaAAalnaka khaleefatan fee al-ardi faohkum bayna alnnasi bialhaqqi wala tattabiAAi alhawa fayudillaka AAan sabeeli Allahi inna allatheena yadilloona AAan sabeeli Allahi lahum AAathabun shadeedun bima nasoo yawma alhisabi\n26.","title":"The Quran: S\u016bra XXXVIII.: \u1e62\u0101d (being one ...","type":"page"}
