Allahu yatawaffa al-anfusa heena mawtiha waallatee lam tamut fee manamiha fayumsiku allatee qada AAalayha almawta wayursilu al-okhra ila ajalin musamman inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yatafakkaroona\n42. It is God that takes\n The souls (of men) at death;\nAnd those that die not\n (He takes) during their sleep:\n Those on whom He\n Has passed the decree\n Of death, He keeps back\n (From returning to life),\n But the rest He sends\n (To their bodies)\n For a term appointed.\n Verily in this are Signs\n For those who reflect.\n43. Ami ittakhathoo min dooni Allahi shufaAAaa qul awa law kanoo la yamlikoona shay-an wala yaAAqiloona\n43. What! Do they take\n For intercessors others\n Besides God? Say: \"Even if\n They have no power whatever\n And no intelligence?\"\n44. Qul lillahi alshshafaAAatu jameeAAan lahu mulku alssamawati waal-ardi thumma ilayhi turjaAAoona\n44. Say: \"To God belongs\n Exclusively (the right\nTo grant) Intercession:\n To Him belongs the dominion\n Of the heavens and the earth:\n In the End, it is to Him\n That ye shall be\n Brought back.\"\n45. Wa-itha thukira Allahu wahdahu ishmaazzat quloobu allatheena la yu/minoona bial-akhirati wa-itha thukira allatheena min doonihi itha hum yastabshiroona\n45. When God, the One and Only,\n Is mentioned, the hearts\n Of those who believe not\n In the Hereafter are filled\n With disgust and horror;\n But when (gods) other than He\n Are mentioned, behold,\n They are filled with joy!\n46. Quli allahumma fatira alssamawati waal-ardi AAalima alghaybi waalshshahadati anta tahkumu bayna AAibadika fee ma kanoo feehi yakhtalifoona\n46. Say: \"O God!\n Creator of the heavens\n And the earth!\n Knower of all that is\n Hidden and open!\n It is Thou that wilt\n Judge between Thy Servants\n In those matters about which\n They have differed.\"\n47. Walaw anna lillatheena thalamoo ma fee al-ardi jameeAAan wamithlahu maAAahu laiftadaw bihi min soo-i alAAathabi yawma alqiyamati wabada lahum mina Allahi ma lam yakoonoo yahtasiboona\n47. Even if the wrong-doers\n Had all that there is\n On earth, and as much more,\n (In vain) would they offer it\nFor ransom from the pain\n Of the Penalty on the Day\n Of Judgment: but something\n Will confront them from God,\n Which they could never\n Have counted upon!\n48. Wabada lahum sayyi-atu ma kasaboo wahaqa bihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzi-oona\n48. For the evils of their Deeds\n Will confront them,\n And they will be (completely)\n Encircled by that which\n They used to mock at!\n49. Fa-itha massa al-insana durrun daAAana thumma itha khawwalnahu niAAmatan minna qala innama ooteetuhu AAala AAilmin bal hiya fitnatun walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona\n49. Now, when trouble touches man,\n He cries to Us:\n But when We bestow\n A favour upon him\n As from Ourselves,\n He says, \"This has been\n Given to me because of\n A certain knowledge (I have)!\"\n Nay, but this is\n But a trial, but most\n Of them understand not!\n50. Qad qalaha allatheena min qablihim fama aghna AAanhum ma kanoo yaksiboona\n50. Thus did the (generations)\n Before them say! But\n All that they did\n Was of no profit to them.\n51. Faasabahum sayyi-atu ma kasaboo waallatheena thalamoo min haola-i sayuseebuhum sayyi-atu ma kasaboo wama hum bimuAAjizeena\n51. Nay, the evil results\n Of their deeds overtook them.\n And the wrong-doers\n Of this (generation)\n The evil results of their deeds\n Will soon overtake them (too),\nAnd they will never be\n Able to frustrate (Our Plan)!\n52. Awa lam yaAAlamoo anna Allaha yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashao wayaqdiru inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yu/minoona\n52. Know they not that\n God enlarges the provision\n Or restricts it, for any\n He pleases?
