Waman yaAAshu AAan thikri alrrahmani nuqayyid lahu shaytanan fahuwa lahu qareenun\n36. If anyone withdraws himself\n From remembrance\nOf (God) Most Gracious,\n We appoint for him\n An evil one, to be\n An intimate companion to him.\n37. Wa-innahum layasuddoonahum AAani alssabeeli wayahsaboona annahum muhtadoona\n37. Such (evil ones) really\n Hinder them from the Path,\n But they think that they\n Are being guided aright!\n38. Hatta itha jaana qala ya layta baynee wabaynaka buAAda almashriqayni fabi/sa alqareenu\n38. At length, when (such a one)\n Comes to Us, he says\n (To his evil companion):\n \"Would that between me\n And thee were the distance\n Of East and West!\" Ah!\n Evil is the companion (indeed)!\n39. Walan yanfaAAakumu alyawma ith thalamtum annakum fee alAAathabi mushtarikoona\n39. When ye have done wrong,\n It will avail you nothing,\n That day, that ye shall be\n Partners in punishment!\n40. Afaanta tusmiAAu alssumma aw tahdee alAAumya waman kana fee dalalin mubeenin\n40. Canst thou then make\n The deaf to hear, or give\n Direction to the blind\n Or to such as (wander)\n In manifest error?\n41. Fa-imma nathhabanna bika fa-inna minhum muntaqimoona\n41. Even if We take thee\n Away, We shall be sure\n To exact retribution from them,\n42. Aw nuriyannaka allathee waAAadnahum fa-inna AAalayhim muqtadiroona\n42. Or We shall show thee\n That (accomplished) which We\n Have promised them:\n For verily We shall\n Prevail over them.\n43. Faistamsik biallathee oohiya ilayka innaka AAala siratin mustaqeemin\n43. So hold thou fast\n To the Revelation sent down\n To thee: verily thou\n Art on a Straight Way.\n44. Wa-innahu lathikrun laka waliqawmika wasawfa tus-aloona\n44. The (Qur-\u0101n) is indeed\n The Message, for thee\n And for thy people;\n And soon shall ye\n (All) be brought to account.\n45. Wais-al man arsalna min qablika min rusulina ajaAAalna min dooni alrrahmani alihatan yuAAbadoona\n45.
