H\u0101-M\u012bm.\n2. By the Book that\n Makes things clear;\u2014\n3. Inna anzalnahu fee laylatin mubarakatin inna kunna munthireena\n3. We sent it down\n During a blessed night:\n For We (ever) wish\n To warn (against Evil).\n4. Feeha yufraqu kullu amrin hakeemin\n4. In that (night) is made\n Distinct every affair\n Of wisdom,\n5. Amran min AAindina inna kunna mursileena\n5. By command, from Our\n Presence. For We (ever)\n Send (revelations),\n6. Rahmatan min rabbika innahu huwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu\n6. As a Mercy\n From thy Lord:\n For He hears and knows\n (All things);\n7. Rabbi alssamawati waal-ardi wama baynahuma in kuntum mooqineena\n7. The Lord of the heavens\n And the earth and all\nBetween them, if ye (but)\n Have an assured faith.\n8. La ilaha illa huwa yuhyee wayumeetu rabbukum warabbu aba-ikumu al-awwaleena\n8. There is no god but He:\n It is He Who gives life\n And gives death,\n The Lord and Cherisher\n To you and your earliest\n Ancestors.\n9. Bal hum fee shakkin yalAAaboona\n9. Yet they play about\n In doubt.\n10. Fairtaqib yawma ta/tee alssamao bidukhanin mubeenin\n10. Then watch thou\n For the Day\n That the sky will\n Bring forth a kind\n Of smoke (or mist)\n Plainly visible,\n11. Yaghsha alnnasa hatha AAathabun aleemun\n11. Enveloping the people:\n This will be a Penalty\n Grievous.\n12. Rabbana ikshif AAanna alAAathaba inna mu/minoona\n12. (They will say:)\n \"Our Lord! Remove\n The Penalty from us,\n For we do really believe!\"\n13. Anna lahumu alththikra waqad jaahum rasoolun mubeenun\n13. How shall the Message\n Be (effectual) for them,\n Seeing that an Apostle\n Explaining things clearly\n Has (already) come to them,\u2014\n14. Thumma tawallaw AAanhu waqaloo muAAallamun majnoonun\n14. Yet they turn away\n From him and say: \"Tutored\n (By others), a man possessed!\"\n15. Inna kashifoo alAAathabi qaleelan innakum AAa-idoona\n15. We shall indeed remove\n The Penalty for a while,\n (But) truly ye will revert\n (To your ways).\n16. Yawma nabtishu albatshata alkubra inna muntaqimoona\n16. One day We shall seize\n You with a mighty onslaught:\n We will indeed (then)\n Exact Retribution!\n17. Walaqad fatanna qablahum qawma firAAawna wajaahum rasoolun kareemun\n17. We did, before them,\n Try the people of Pharaoh:\nThere came to them\n An apostle most honourable,\n18. An addoo ilayya AAibada Allahi innee lakum rasoolun ameenun\n18. Saying: \"Restore to me\n The servants of God:\n I am to you an apostle\n Worthy of all trust;\n19. Waan la taAAloo AAala Allahi innee ateekum bisultanin mubeenin\n19. \"And be not arrogant\n As against God:\n For I come to you\n With authority manifest.\n20. Wa-innee AAuthtu birabbee warabbikum an tarjumooni\n20. \"For me, I have sought\n Safety with my Lord\n And your Lord, against\n Your injuring me.\n21. Wa-in lam tu/minoo lee faiAAtazilooni\n21. \"If ye believe me not,\n At least keep yourselves\n Away from me.\"\n22. FadaAAa rabbahu anna haola-i qawmun mujrimoona\n22. (But they were aggressive:)\n Then he cried\nTo his Lord:\n \"These are indeed\n A people given to sin.\"\n23. Faasri biAAibadee laylan innakum muttabaAAoona\n23. (The reply came:)\n \"March forth with my servants\n By night: for ye are\n Sure to be pursued.\n24. Waotruki albahra rahwan innahum jundun mughraqoona\n24. \"And leave the sea\n As a furrow (divided):\n For they are a host\n (Destined) to be drowned.\"\n25. Kam tarakoo min jannatin waAAuyoonin\n25. How many were the gardens\n And springs they left behind,\n26. WazurooAAin wamaqamin kareemin\n26. And corn-fields\n And noble buildings,\n27. WanaAAmatin kanoo feeha fakiheena\n27. And wealth (and conveniences\n Of life), wherein they\n Had taken such delight!\n28. Kathalika waawrathnaha qawman akhareena\n28. Thus (was their end)!\n And We made other people\n Inherit (those things)!\n29. Fama bakat AAalayhimu alssamao waal-ardu wama kanoo munthareena\n29.
