Walaqad najjayna banee isra-eela mina alAAathabi almuheeni\n30. We did deliver aforetime\n The Children of Israel\n From humiliating Punishment,\n31. Min firAAawna innahu kana AAaliyan mina almusrifeena\n31. Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he\n Was arrogant (even) among\n Inordinate transgressors.\n32. Walaqadi ikhtarnahum AAala AAilmin AAala alAAalameena\n32. And We chose them aforetime\n Above the nations, knowingly,\n33. Waataynahum mina al-ayati ma feehi balaon mubeenun\n33. And granted them Signs\n In which there was\n A manifest trial.\n34. As to these (Quraish),\n They say forsooth:\n35. In hiya illa mawtatuna al-oola wama nahnu bimunshareena\n35. \"There is nothing beyond\n Our first death,\n And we shall not\n Be raised again.\n36. Fa/too bi-aba-ina in kuntum sadiqeena\n36. \"Then bring (back)\n Our forefathers, if what\n Ye say is true!\"\n37. Ahum khayrun am qawmu tubbaAAin waallatheena min qablihim ahlaknahum innahum kanoo mujrimeena\n37. What! are they better\n Than the people of Tubba\u2018\n And those who were\n Before them? We destroyed\n Them because they were\n Guilty of sin.\n38. Wama khalaqna alssamawati waal-arda wama baynahuma laAAibeena\n38. We created not\n The heavens, the earth,\n And all between them,\n Merely in (idle) sport:\n39. Ma khalaqnahuma illa bialhaqqi walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona\n39. We created them not\n Except for just ends:\n But most of them\n Do not understand.\n40. Inna yawma alfasli meeqatuhum ajmaAAeena\n40. Verily the Day of\n Sorting Out is the time\n Appointed for all of them,\u2014\n41. Yawma la yughnee mawlan AAan mawlan shay-an wala hum yunsaroona\n41. The Day when no protector\n Can avail his client\n In aught, and no help\n Can they receive,\n42. Illa man rahima Allahu innahu huwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu\n42.
