Iqtarabati alssaAAatu wainshaqqa alqamaru\n1. The Hour (of Judgment)\n Is nigh, and the moon\n Is cleft asunder.\n2. Wa-in yaraw ayatan yuAAridoo wayaqooloo sihrun mustamirrun\n2. But if they see\n A Sign, they turn away,\n And say, \"This is\n (But) transient magic.\"\n3. Wakaththaboo waittabaAAoo ahwaahum wakullu amrin mustaqirrun\n3. They reject (the warning)\n And follow their (own) lusts\n But every matter has\n Its appointed time.\n4. Walaqad jaahum mina al-anba-i ma feehi muzdajarun\n4. There have already come\n To them Recitals wherein\n There is (enough) to check (them),\n5. Hikmatun balighatun fama tughnee alnnuthuru\n5. Mature wisdom;\u2014but\n (The preaching of) Warners\n Profits them not.\n6. Fatawalla AAanhum yawma yadAAu alddaAAi ila shay-in nukurin\n6. Therefore, (O Prophet,)\n Turn away from them.\n The Day that the Caller\n Will call (them)\n To a terrible affair,\n7. KhushshaAAan absaruhum yakhrujoona mina al-ajdathi kaannahum jaradun muntashirun\n7. They will come forth,\n Their eyes humbled\u2014\n From (their) graves, (torpid)\n Like locusts scattered abroad,\n8. MuhtiAAeena ila alddaAAi yaqoolu alkafiroona hatha yawmun AAasirun\n8. Hastening, with eyes transfixed,\n Towards the Caller!\u2014\n \"Hard is this Day!\",\n The Unbelievers will say.\n9. Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohin fakaththaboo AAabdana waqaloo majnoonun waizdujira\n9. Before them the People\n Of Noah rejected (their apostle):\n They rejected Our servant,\n And said, \"Here is\n One possessed!\", and he\n Was driven out.\n10. FadaAAa rabbahu annee maghloobun faintasir\n10. Then he called on his Lord:\n \"I am one overcome:\n Do Thou then help (me)!\n11. Fafatahna abwaba alssama-i bima-in munhamirin\n11. So We opened the gates\n Of heaven, with water\n Pouring forth.\n12. Wafajjarna al-arda AAuyoonan failtaqa almao AAala amrin qad qudira\n12. And We caused the earth\n To gush forth with springs.\n So the waters met (and rose)\n To the extent decreed.\n13. Wahamalnahu AAala thati alwahin wadusurin\n13. But We bore him\n On an (Ark) made of\n Broad planks and caulked\n With palm-fibre:\n14. Tajree bi-aAAyunina jazaan liman kana kufira\n14. She floats under our eyes\n (And care): a recompense\n To one who had been\n Rejected (with scorn)!\n15. Walaqad taraknaha ayatan fahal min muddakirin\n15. And We have left\n This as a Sign\n (For all time): then\n Is there any that will\n Receive admonition?\n16. Fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri\n16. But how (terrible) was\n My Penalty and My Warning?\n17. Walaqad yassarna alqur-ana lilththikri fahal min muddakirin\n17. And We have indeed\n Made the Qur-\u0101n easy\nTo understand and remember:\n Then is there any that\n Will receive admonition?\n18. Kaththabat AAadun fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri\n18. The \u2018\u0100d (people) (too)\n Rejected (Truth): then\n How terrible was\n My Penalty and My Warning?\n19. Inna arsalna AAalayhim reehan sarsaran fee yawmi nahsin mustamirrin\n19. For We sent against them\n A furious wind, on a Day\n Of violent Disaster,\n20. TanziAAu alnnasa kaannahum aAAjazu nakhlin munqaAAirin\n20. Plucking out men as if\n They were roots of palm-trees\n Torn up (from the ground).\n21. Fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri\n21. Yea, how (terrible) was\n My Penalty and My Warning!\n22. Walaqad yassarna alqur-ana lilththikri fahal min muddakirin\n22.
