Thullatun mina al-awwaleena\n39. A (goodly) number\n From those of old,\n40. Wathullatun mina al-akhireena\n40. And a (goodly) number\n From those of later times.\n41. Waas-habu alshshimali ma as-habu alshshimali\n41. The Companions of\n The Left Hand,\u2014\n What will be\n The Companions of\n The Left Hand?\n42. (They will be) in the midst\n Of a fierce Blast of Fire\n And in Boiling Water,\n43. And in the shades\n Of Black Smoke:\n44. Nothing (will there be)\n To refresh, nor to please:\n45. Innahum kanoo qabla thalika mutrafeena\n45. For that they were wont\n To be indulged, before that,\nIn wealth (and luxury),\n46. Wakanoo yusirroona AAala alhinthi alAAatheemi\n46. And persisted obstinately\n In wickedness supreme!\n47. Wakanoo yaqooloona a-itha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman a-inna lamabAAoothoona\n47. And they used to say,\n \"What! when we die\n And become dust and bones,\n Shall we then indeed\n Be raised up again?\u2014\n48. \"(We) and our fathers of old?\"\n49. Qul inna al-awwaleena waal-akhireena\n49. Say: \"Yea, those of old\n And those of later times,\n50. LamajmooAAoona ila meeqati yawmin maAAloomin\n50. \"All will certainly be\n Gathered together for the meeting\n Appointed for a Day\n Well-known.\n51. Thumma innakum ayyuha alddalloona almukaththiboona\n51. \"Then will ye truly,\u2014\n O ye that go wrong,\n And treat (Truth) as Falsehood!\u2014\n52. Laakiloona min shajarin min zaqqoomin\n52. \"Ye will surely taste\n Of the Tree of Zaqq\u016bm.\n53. Famali-oona minha albutoona\n53. \"Then will ye fill\n Your insides therewith,\n54. Fashariboona AAalayhi mina alhameemi\n54. \"And drink Boiling Water\n On top of it:\n55. Fashariboona shurba alheemi\n55. \"Indeed ye shall drink\n Like diseased camels\n Raging with thirst!\"\n56. Hatha nuzuluhum yawma alddeeni\n56. Such will be their entertainment\n On the Day of Requital!\n57. Nahnu khalaqnakum falawla tusaddiqoona\n57. It is We Who have\n Created you: why will ye\n Not witness the Truth?\n58. Do ye then see?\u2014\n The (human Seed) that\n Ye throw out,\u2014\n59. Aantum takhluqoonahu am nahnu alkhaliqoona\n59. Is it ye who create it,\n Or are We the Creators?\n60. Nahnu qaddarna baynakumu almawta wama nahnu bimasbooqeena\n60. We have decreed Death\n To be your common lot,\n And We are not\n To be frustrated\n61. AAala an nubaddila amthalakum wanunshi-akum fee ma la taAAlamoona\n61. From changing your Forms\n And creating you (again)\n In (Forms) that ye know not.\n62. Walaqad AAalimtumu alnnash-ata al-oola falawla tathakkaroona\n62. And ye certainly know already\n The first form of creation:\n Why then do ye not\n Celebrate His praises?\n63. See ye the seed that\n Ye sow in the ground?\n64. Aantum tazraAAoonahu am nahnu alzzariAAoona\n64. Is it ye that cause it\n To grow, or are We\n The Cause?\n65. Law nashao lajaAAalnahu hutaman fathaltum tafakkahoona\n65. Were it Our Will,\n We could crumble it\n To dry powder, and ye would\n Be left in wonderment,\n66. (Saying), \"We are indeed\n Left with debts (for nothing):\n67. \"Indeed are we shut out\n (Of the fruits of our labour)\",\n68. Afaraaytumu almaa allathee tashraboona\n68. See ye the water\n Which ye drink?\n69. Aantum anzaltumoohu mina almuzni am nahnu almunziloona\n69. Do ye bring it Down\n (In rain) from the Cloud\n Or do We?\n70. Law nashao jaAAalnahu ojajan falawla tashkuroona\n70. Were it Our Will,\n We could make it\nSalt (and unpalatable):\n Then why do ye not\n Give thanks?\n71. Afaraaytumu alnnara allatee tooroona\n71. See ye the Fire\n Which ye kindle?\n72. Aantum ansha/tum shajarataha am nahnu almunshi-oona\n72. Is it ye who grow\n The tree which feeds\n The fire, or do We\n Grow it?\n73. Nahnu jaAAalnaha tathkiratan wamataAAan lilmuqweena\n73. We have made it\n A memorial (of Our handiwork),\n And an article of comfort\n And convenience for\n The denizens of deserts.\n74. Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemi\n74.
