The Sure Reality!\n2. What is the Sure Reality?\n3. And what will make\n Thee realise what\n The Sure Reality is?\n4. Kaththabat thamoodu waAAadun bialqariAAati\n4. The Tham\u016bd\n And the \u2018\u0100d people\n (Branded) as false\n The Stunning Calamity!\n5. Faamma thamoodu faohlikoo bialttaghiyati\n5. But the Tham\u016bd,\u2014\n They were destroyed\n By a terrible Storm\n Of thunder and lightning!\n6. Waamma AAadun faohlikoo bireehin sarsarin AAatiyatin\n6. And the \u2018\u0100d,\u2014\n They were destroyed\n By a furious Wind,\n Exceedingly violent;\n7. Sakhkharaha AAalayhim sabAAa layalin wathamaniyata ayyamin husooman fatara alqawma feeha sarAAa kaannahum aAAjazu nakhlin khawiyatun\n7. He made it rage\n Against them seven nights\n And eight days in succession:\n So that thou couldst see\n The (whole) people lying\n Prostrate in its (path),\n As if they had been\n Roots of hollow palm-trees\n Tumbled down!\n8. Fahal tara lahum min baqiyatin\n8. Then seest thou any\n Of them left surviving?\n9. Wajaa firAAawnu waman qablahu waalmu/tafikatu bialkhati-ati\n9. And Pharaoh,\n And those before him,\n And the Cities Overthrown,\n Committed habitual Sin,\n10. FaAAasaw rasoola rabbihim faakhathahum akhthatan rabiyatan\n10. And disobeyed (each)\n The apostle of their Lord;\n So He punished them\n With an abundant Penalty.\n11. Inna lamma tagha almao hamalnakum fee aljariyati\n11. We, when the water\n (Of Noah's Flood) overflowed\n Beyond its limits,\n Carried you (mankind),\n In the floating (Ark),\n12. LinajAAalaha lakum tathkiratan wataAAiyaha othunun waAAiyatun\n12. That We might\n Make it a Message\n Unto you, and that ears\n (That should hear the tale\n And) retain its memory\n Should bear its (lessons)\n In remembrance.\n13. Fa-itha nufikha fee alssoori nafkhatun wahidatun\n13. Then, when one\n Blast is sounded\n On the Trumpet,\n14. Wahumilati al-ardu waaljibalu fadukkata dakkatan wahidatan\n14. And the earth is moved,\n And its mountains,\n And they are crushed to powder\n At one stroke,\u2014\n15. Fayawma-ithin waqaAAati alwaqiAAatu\n15. On that Day\n Shall the (Great) Event\n Come to pass,\n16. Wainshaqqati alssamao fahiya yawma-ithin wahiyatun\n16. And the sky will be\n Rent asunder, for it will\n That Day be flimsy,\n17. Waalmalaku AAala arja-iha wayahmilu AAarsha rabbika fawqahum yawma-ithin thamaniyatun\n17. And the angels will be\n On its sides,\nAnd eight will, that Day,\n Bear the Throne\n Of thy Lord above them.\n18. Yawma-ithin tuAAradoona la takhfa minkum khafiyatun\n18. That Day shall ye be\n Brought to Judgment:\n Not an act of yours\n That ye hide will be hidden.\n19. Faamma man ootiya kitabahu biyameenihi fayaqoolu haomu iqraoo kitabiyah\n19. Then he that will be\n Given his Record\n In his right hand\n Will say: \"Ah here!\n Read ye my Record!\n20. Innee thanantu annee mulaqin hisabiyah\n20. \"I did really understand\n That my Account would\n (One Day) reach me!\"\n21. Fahuwa fee AAeeshatin radiyatin\n21. And he will be\n In a life of Bliss,\n22. In a Garden on high,\n23. The Fruits whereof\n (Will hang in bunches)\n Low and near.\n24. Kuloo waishraboo hanee-an bima aslaftum fee al-ayyami alkhaliyati\n24. \"Eat ye and drink ye,\n With full satisfaction;\nBecause of the (good)\n That ye sent before you,\n In the days that are gone!\"\n25. Waamma man ootiya kitabahu bishimalihi fayaqoolu ya laytanee lam oota kitabiyah\n25. And he that will\n Be given his Record\n In his left hand,\n Will say: \"Ah! would\n That my record had not\n Been given to me!\n26. \"And that I had never\n Realised how\n My account (stood)!\n27. Ya laytaha kanati alqadiyatu\n27. \"Ah! would that (Death)\n Had made an end of me!\n28. \"Of no profit to me\n Has been my wealth!\n29. \"My power has\n Perished from me!\"\u2026\n30. (The stern command will say):\n \"Seize ye him,\n And bind ye him,\n31. \"And burn ye him\n In the Blazing Fire.\n32. Thumma fee silsilatin tharAAuha sabAAoona thiraAAan faoslukoohu\n32. \"Further, make him march\n In a chain, whereof\n The length is seventy cubits!\n33. Innahu kana la yu/minu biAllahi alAAatheemi\n33. \"This was he that\n Would not believe\n In God Most High,\n34. Wala yahuddu AAala taAAami almiskeeni\n34. \"And would not encourage\n The feeding of the indigent!\n35. Falaysa lahu alyawma hahuna hameemun\n35. \"So no friend hath he\n Here this Day.\n36. Wala taAAamun illa min ghisleenin\n36. \"Nor hath he any food\n Except the corruption\n From the washing of wounds,\n37.
