Nay, verily:\n By the Moon,\n33. And by the Night\n As it retreateth,\n34. And by the Dawn\n As it shineth forth,\u2014\n35. This is but one\n Of the mighty (portents),\n36. A warning to mankind,\u2014\n37. Liman shaa minkum an yataqaddama aw yataakhkhara\n37. To any of you that\n Chooses to press forward,\n Or to follow behind;\u2014\n38. Kullu nafsin bima kasabat raheenatun\n38. Every soul will be (held)\n In pledge for its deeds.\n39. Except the Companions\n Of the Right Hand.\n40. (They will be) in Gardens\n (Of Delight): they will\n Question each other,\n41. And (ask) of the Sinners:\n42. \"What led you\n Into Hell-Fire?\"\n43. Qaloo lam naku mina almusalleena\n43. They will say:\n \"We were not of those\n Who prayed;\n44. Walam naku nutAAimu almiskeena\n44. \"Nor were we of those\n Who fed the indigent;\n45. Wakunna nakhoodu maAAa alkha-ideena\n45. \"But we used to talk\n Vanities with vain talkers;\n46. Wakunna nukaththibu biyawmi alddeeni\n46. \"And we used to deny\n The Day of Judgment,\n47. \"Until there came to us\n (The Hour) that is certain.\"\n48. Fama tanfaAAuhum shafaAAatu alshshafiAAeena\n48. Then will no intercession\n Of (any) intercessors\n Profit them.\n49. Fama lahum AAani alttathkirati muAArideena\n49. When what is\n The matter with them\n That they turn away\n From admonition?\n50. Kaannahum humurun mustanfiratun\n50. As if they were\n Affrighted asses,\n51. Fleeing from a lion!\n52. Bal yureedu kullu imri-in minhum an yu/ta suhufan munashsharatan\n52. Forsooth, each one of them\n Wants to be given\n Scrolls (of revelation) spread out!\n53. Kalla bal la yakhafoona al-akhirata\n53. By no means! But\n They fear not the Hereafter.\n54. Nay, this surely\n Is an admonition:\n55. Let any who will,\n Keep it in remembrance!\n56. Wama yathkuroona illa an yashaa Allahu huwa ahlu alttaqwa waahlu almaghfirati\n56.
