By the (Winds) Sent Forth\n One after another\n (To man's profit);\n2. Which then blow violently\n In tempestuous Gusts,\n3. And scatter (things)\n Far and wide;\n4. Then separate them,\n One from another,\n5. Then spread abroad\n A Message,\n6. Whether of Justification\n Or of Warning;\u2014\n7. Innama tooAAadoona lawaqiAAun\n7. Assuredly, what ye are\n Promised must come to pass.\n8. Then when the stars\n Become dim;\n9. When the heaven\n Is cleft asunder;\n10. When the mountains are\n Scattered (to the winds) as dust;\n11. And when the apostles\n Are (all) appointed a time\n (To collect);\u2014\n12. For what Day are these\n (Portents) deferred?\n13. For the Day of Sorting out.\n14. Wama adraka ma yawmu alfasli\n14. And what will explain\n To thee what is\n The Day of Sorting out?\n15. Waylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeena\n15. Ah woe, that Day,\n To the Rejecters of Truth!\n16. Did We not destroy\n The men of old\n (For their evil)?\n17. Thumma nutbiAAuhumu al-akhireena\n17. So shall We make\n Later (generations)\n Follow them.\n18. Kathalika nafAAalu bialmujrimeena\n18. Thus do We deal\n With men of sin.\n19. Waylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeena\n19. Ah woe, that Day,\n To the Rejecters of Truth!\n20. Alam nakhluqkum min ma-in maheenin\n20. Have We not created\n You from a fluid\n (Held) despicable?\u2014\n21. FajaAAalnahu fee qararin makeenin\n21. The which We placed\n In a place of rest,\n Firmly fixed,\n22. For a period (of gestation),\n Determined (according to need)?\n23. Faqadarna faniAAma alqadiroona\n23. For We do determine\n (According to need); for We\n Are the Best to determine (things).\n24. Waylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeena\n24. Ah woe, that Day!\n To the Rejecters of Truth!\n25. Alam najAAali al-arda kifatan\n25. Have We not made\n The earth (as a place)\n To draw together\n26. The living and the dead,\n27. WajaAAalna feeha rawasiya shamikhatin waasqaynakum maan furatan\n27. And made therein\n Mountains standing firm,\n Lofty (in stature);\n And provided for you\n Water sweet (and wholesome)?\n28. Waylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeena\n28. Ah woe, that Day,\n To the Rejecters of Truth!\n29. Intaliqoo ila ma kuntum bihi tukaththiboona\n29. (It will be said:)\n \"Depart ye to that\n Which ye used to reject\n As false!\n30. Intaliqoo ila thillin thee thalathi shuAAabin\n30. \"Depart ye to a Shadow\n (Of smoke ascending)\n In three columns,\n31. La thaleelin wala yughnee mina allahabi\n31. \"(Which yields) no shade\n Of coolness, and is\n Of no use against\n The fierce Blaze.\n32. Innaha tarmee bishararin kaalqasri\n32. \"Indeed it throws about\n Sparks (huge) as Forts,\n33. \"As if there were\n (A string of) yellow camels\n (Marching swiftly).\n34. Waylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeena\n34. Ah woe, that Day,\n To the Rejecters of Truth!\n35. That will be a Day\n When they shall not\nBe able to speak,\n36. Wala yu/thanu lahum fayaAAtathiroona\n36. Nor will it be\n Open to them\n To put forth pleas.\n37. Waylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeena\n37. Ah woe, that Day,\n To the Rejecters of Truth!\n38. Hatha yawmu alfasli jamaAAnakum waal-awwaleena\n38. That will be a Day\n Of Sorting out! We shall\n Gather you together\n And those before (you)!\n39. Fa-in kana lakum kaydun fakeedooni\n39. Now, if ye have\n A trick (or plot),\n Use it against Me!\n40. Waylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeena\n40.
