By the Sun\n And his (glorious) splendour;\n2. By the Moon\n As she follows him;\n3. By the Day as it\n Shows up (the Sun's) glory;\n4. By the Night as it\n Conceals it;\n5. By the Firmament\n And its (wonderful) structure;\n6. By the Earth\n And its (wide) expanse;\n7. By the Soul,\n And the proportion and order\n Given to it;\n8. And its enlightenment\n As to its wrong\n And its right;\u2014\n9. Truly he succeeds\n That purifies it,\n10. And he fails\n That corrupts it!\n11. The Tham\u016bd (people)\n Rejected (their prophet)\n Through their inordinate\n Wrong-doing.\n12. Behold, the most wicked\n Man among them was\n Deputed (for impiety).\n13. But the apostle of God\n Said to them: \"It is\nA She-camel of God!\n And (bar her not\n From) having her drink!\"\n14. Then they rejected him\n (As a false prophet),\n And they hamstrung her.\n So their Lord, on account\n Of their crime, obliterated\n Their traces and made them\n Equal (in destruction,\n High and low)!\n15.
