A base, a mining\n operation using very large machines, and the very large alien\n craft described in sighting reports as MOTHER SHIPS exist there.\n - Milton Cooper\n \n * * *\n \n Did Apollo 11 Encounter UFOs on the Moon?\n from the Book \"Above Top Secret\" by Timothy Good\n \n According to hitherto unconfirmed reports, both Neil\n Armstrong and Edwin \"Buzz\" Aldrin saw UFOs shortly after that\n historic landing on the Moon in Apollo 11 on 21 July 1969. I\n remember hearing one of the astronauts refer to a \"light\" in\n or on a crater during the television transmission, followed by\n a request from mission control for further information. Nothing\n more was heard.\n \n According to a former NASA employee Otto Binder, unnamed\n radio hams with their own VHF receiving facilities that bypassed\n NASA's broadcasting outlets picked up the following exchange:\n \n NASA: Whats there?\n Mission Control calling Apollo 11...\n \n Apollo11: These \"Babies\" are huge, Sir! Enormous!\n OH MY GOD! You wouldn't believe it!\n I'm telling you there are other spacecraft out there,\n Lined up on the far side of the crater edge!\n They're on the Moon watching us!\n \n In 1979 Maurice Chatelain, former chief of NASA\n Communications Systems confirmed that Armstrong had indeed\n reported seeing two UFOs on the rim of a crater. \"The encounter\n was common knowledge in NASA,\" he revealed, \"but nobody has\n talked about it until now.\"\n \n Soviet scientists were allegedly the first to confirm\n the incident. \"According to our information, the encounter\n was reported immediately after the landing of the module,\" said\n Dr. Vladimir Azhazha, a physicist and Professor of\n Mathematics at Moscow University. \"Neil Armstrong relayed the\n message to Mission Control that two large, mysterious objects\n were watching them after having landed near the moon module.\n But his message was never heard by the public - because NASA\n censored it. \"According to another Soviet scientist, Dr.\n Aleksandr Kazantsev, Buss Aldrin took color movie film of the\n UFOs from inside the module, and continued filming them after\n he and Armstrong went outside. Dr. Azhazha claims that the\n UFOs departed minutes after the astronauts came out on to the\n lunar surface.\n \n Maurice Chatelain also confirmed that Apollo 11's\n radio transmissions were interrupted on several occasions in\n order to hide the news from the public. Before dismissing\n Chatelain's sensational claims, it is worth noting his\n impressive background in the aerospace industry and space\n program. His first job after moving from France was as an\n electronics engineer with Convair, specializing in\n telecommunications, telemetry and radar. In 1959 he was in\n charge of an electromagnetic research group, developing new\n radar and telecommunications systems for Ryan. One of his\n eleven patents was an automatic radar landing system that\n ignited retro rockets at a given altitude, used in the\n Ranger and Surveyor flights to the Moon. Later, at North\n American Aviation, Chatelain was offered the job of designing\n and building the Apollo communications and data-processing\n systems.\n \n Chatelain claims that \"all Apollo and Gemini flights\n were followed, both at a distance and sometimes also quite\n closely, by space vehicles of extraterrestrial origin - flying\n saucers, or UFOs, if you want to call them by that name.\n Every time it occurred, the astronauts informed Mission\n Control, who then ordered absolute silence.\" He goes on to\n say:\n \n \"I think that Walter Schirra aboard Mercury 8 was the\n first of the astronauts to use the code name 'Santa Claus'\n to indicate the presence of flying saucers next to space\n capsules. However, his announcements were barely noticed by the\n general public. It was a little different when James Lovell\n on board the Apollo 8 command module came out from behind the\n moon and said for everybody to hear: 'PLEASE BE INFORMED THAT\n THERE IS A SANTA CLAUS.' Even though this happened on\n Christmas Day 1968, many people sensed a hidden meaning in those\n words.\"\n \n Rumors persist. NASA may well be a civilian agency, but\n many of its programs are funded by the defence budget and most\n of the astronauts are subject to military security regulations.\n Apart from the fact that the National Security Agency screens\n all films and probably radio communications as well. We have the\n statements by Otto Binder, Dr. Garry Henderson and Maurice\n Chatelain that the astronauts were under strict orders not to\n discuss their sightings. And Gordon Cooper has testified to a\n United Nations committee that one of the astronauts actually\n witnessed a UFO on the ground. If there is no secrecy, why has\n this sighting not been made public?\n \n A certain professor, who wished to remain anonymous, was\n engaged in a discussion with Neil Armstrong during a NASA\n symposium.\n Professor: What REALLY happened out there with Apollo 11?\n \n Armstrong: It was incredible, of course we had always\n known there was a possibility, the fact is,\n we were warned off!(by the Aliens). There was\n never any question then of a space station or a\n moon city.\n \n Professor: How do you mean \"warned off\"?\n \n Armstrong: I can't go into details, except to say that\n their ships were far superior to ours both in\n size and technology - Boy, were they\n big!...and menacing!\n No, there is no question of a space station.\n Professor: But NASA had other missions after Apollo 11?\n \n Armstrong: Naturally - NASA was committed at that time,\n and couldn't risk panic on Earth.
