Remain calm and don't panic.\n \n 2. Do NOT attempt to approach the craft if it is on the ground\n or hovering at a low altitude. There have been many cases\n in which witnesses have heat and/or radiation burns from\n approaching too close to a craft.\n \n 3. Do NOT attempt to make contact with any of the craft's\n occupants. Your intentions may be mistaken as an act of\n hostility.\n \n 4. REPORT YOUR SIGHTING. By all means report what you have\n seen, but don't bother reporting it to the Air Force, the\n FBI, or local Police. These organizations maintain there\n are no UFO's and as such will simply file your report away.\n \n Instead report your sighting to a UFO organization such as\n CUFON, UFORN, MUFON, CAUS, or any of a dozen other UFO\n groups. Chances are these organizations will send a \"field\n investigator\" to personally sit down with you and discuss\n your sighting.\n \n 5. If possible, take a picture of the craft with a camera.\n DON'T use a flash.\n \n A flash on an ordinary camera is only good for about 20\n feet and all you will accomplish is letting the UFO know\n exactly where you are (if it didn't know already.)\n \n 6. Note if possible the exact time of the sighting. This will\n aid in determining the duration of the sighting. Also look\n around for familiar objects that you can use to estimate\n the size of the craft.\n \n 7. Notice if possible any unusual colors or shape of the\n craft, did the craft produce any sound and if so what was\n it.\n \n 8. Notice if possible any related effects caused by the craft,\n i.e. electrical malfunctions of electronic devices (car\n ignition, radios, etc). Look for ground effects such as\n dust being blown about beneath the craft.\n \n 9. After the craft has left look for any \"Traces.\"\n A trace would be any physical sign the craft was there,\n \n \n \n \n i.e. flattened grass, unusual soil patterns etc.\n \n DON'T TOUCH ANY AREA THAT HAS SIGNS OF BEING A TRACE, leave\n that to the UFOlogist.\n \n 10. As quickly as possible write down exactly what you saw or\n dictate it into a tape recorder.\n \n As time passes the memory of exact detail may fade.\n \n --------------------------------------------------------------------\n This file courtesy of the Darkside at 314-644-6705\n --------------------------------------------------------------------\n \n If you have comments or other information relating to such topics as\n this paper covers, please upload to KeelyNet or send to the Vangard\n Sciences address as listed on the first page.
